hi everybody welcome to star citizen live gamedev making ship up - hello hi this this is the sequel to our previous making ship up but it's my reimagining it really has something to do with the last making ship up that we did that that was a Q&A format this one we are here with a concept artist Sarah McCullough Sarah how you doing hello everyone else now Sarah you are a concept artist for planning programs tell everybody who you are and what you've what you've done what it wouldn't be working on where they seen your work before we get into things here I suppose most notably it was the mercury but I also did the SRV as well that's fabulous I've just been playing with this here
- 00:00:59
you keep talking yeah yeah both cuz I've been here a while now I've also done like the like ship weapons ship items I've done like promotional work as well for all of the ships that we'd be without of being released I've pretty much been involved in a lot of little things and a lot of big things as well just whatever needs to be done at the time really what are you working on right now that you can't tell us about both fair enough all right face it really cool stuff but we have to wait a little bit yeah so this is a game dev edition of star citizen life this is not one of those ones where we'll do roundtable questions it's like that we'll probably pull a couple questions
- 00:01:46
through the through the through the of course the show but this is more about we're going to explore some process and since we have a ship concept artist here Sarah what are we doing today I've got a series of little thumbnails here and I thought it'd be cool if we could put a few of them together and create a few ships let's do it right off the bat several comments on your wipeout jack oh yes people have recognized it right away I thought we might well I see I wanted well I never had a ps1 so we were talking about this earlier I wouldn't recognize the ps1 I wouldn't repin it so let's let's get things started that's going to switch our scenes here and all right so I'll zoom out a little bit so you can actually all see this so yeah I've got as you can see like a selection
- 00:02:35
of thumbnails here like bodies arms cockpit swings and also over here we've got some weaponry so what I thought would be quite cool is that we jam this together and do a little bit of a paint over and see what we can come up with cool I'll just talk my way through it really now this is a you already get started here if you're a subscriber and you've seen our subscriber vault section you'll often see the roads not traveled for our concepts so the last couple weeks we've been exploring that there are Samantha's for instance one of the earliest steps in the concept process is thumbnails or silhouettes yeah talk to us about how important shape language is why we start
- 00:03:23
here instead of just something more detailed so a lot of the a lot of thumbnails give it as for firstly its weight and also style language so from just from looking at this you know pretty much straight away that example so we do these little series of thumbnails to just get our initial shapes down and to just make sure that it has a correct weight in flows well with the rest of the series of ships and we can explore as well new avenues of shapes without you know really diving into anything serious and have a little bit of fun really which is also what it's about you also want an individualized the silhouette you you you want ships to be able to be read from along from a long distance away you know we talk a lot
- 00:04:11
about if you follow star citizen's development over the years we talked a lot about you know Elodie is or level of detail where you know we create a ship that's super high poly and detailed and then we bake it down to LED for the three and then two and then one that you want a ship that could still be read as a silhouette from far away yeah I remember reminded of those Old World War 2 spotter carts where they used to just had the silhouettes of ships on like playing cards that's how they would teach you know soldiers on the ground how to identify which ships in the air were friendlies in the photos just based on the shape everything we know about the visual language of a ship starts with its shape exactly and it's you know and on color as well is really important as we get a little bit further down because obviously you want to recognize who they are even for even from a
- 00:05:00
distance so as to say this is what we do here is we just like lock out did these series of things NOAA loons makes brings up a good point don't you start with a design brief usually yes but designers and all they do is tell you what you can and can't do we're not doing that here today no we're having a bit of fun today because usually yeah you do staff of a design brief and it will tell you like you know it's role what size you know what exactly is its purpose and then you go from there really and then you do a series of little thumbnail block outs and and that type of thing it does bring up a good point there's a common misconception when we refer when we
- 00:05:49
refer to the design of a ship it's often considered a visual thing in game design and especially in star citizen the design is done by by you know folks like John crew and Stephen Hosmer it's it's it's a technical thing it's a it's a shorthand for technical design yeah design design happens on paper in spreadsheets and stuff it should have this many seats it's done this many this big an engine this big you know such and such shields and stuff like that that's where design of a ship comes from and then if I kill Ian said it gets him that gets handed over to a concept art artist and the concept artist has to work to bring that to a visual representation now you've done a couple ships now how
- 00:06:38
often does does your visual design then go back and change something about the the technical design like you have you ever done something that just looked cool and they're like oh that wasn't really what we were planning but maybe you know we change that and well I do try to accommodate the design language but that is a it is a backwards and forwards like hey this would be really cool can we try and fit this in or you know it would be really awesome we got this instead of this so there is this this back and forth that you have to have because of you as you say designs very text-based whereas this is quite you know visual
- 00:07:27
and we can see visually and then you know we can once font you've got this little thumbnail we can block it out in 3d deck quick and then we put it like little people in and if it's got cargo we put cargo in it and see if it actually works and then we can go back to design and be like hey look we've got some extra or not basically so it's a very collaborative process it is to the person asking if we can vote on what piece is going yeah we're gonna let Sara do this one just to show the process first and then when we're done with this one well we'll put some numbers on and we'll let people vote what it is all numbers here since she's already ahead of us this might happen so forth see you guys can go ahead and start thinking
- 00:08:13
about what combinations you want and when she's done with this first one we'll start putting a call out into chat and it will do the very scientific process of me looking at chat and see how many numbers and going on I think it's that one this can do this is fine so you know so if you do have any questions for Sara during the course of the show i remember that sara is a ship visual concept artist so if if the question is will we get this type of ship in the future that's a question for design which is not well the guests that we have here today if it's can a ship ever be able to do this the also a question for design which is not the yes that we have here today question should be about process should be about
- 00:09:01
the visual aspects of a ship shape language design language if if I'm not mistaken and we didn't I was before I think I see a lot of anvil style ledge there I was like I was afraid Sheila's actually Jared's isn't anvil it's something else and I was gonna be a fool these all go as well that is all go here some shapes from all goes actually are go and anvil both to share that kind of central sphere cmp you be the horn again they look the book they shared a common thing they do which is thought which is why I thought but what I can do now is I'll just is there a specific ship
- 00:09:55
company whose design language you favor more than others to be fair I actually really like Argo because it's quite industrial and it was my first real go out it I and I really actually enjoyed enjoyed doing it so I'll goes all ghosts fun i'm bulls really good how often you go into a ship concept being with the manufacturer in mind almost always almost always it's it that's one of those things that are determined by a mixture of the design team in the lower team that there's always a good back-and-forth between
- 00:10:42
design and lower about about okay if it's that kind of ship what manufacturers would be producing that kind of ship so what happened to the ship what i turned away in the ship at the bottom disappeared but I thought you know might be cool too the community pick a few all right you want to get to that now okay so where do you want to start do you want to start with a cockpit or a body or well we've got these type of cockpit so one two four okay so if you want to start right all right let's start with cockpits everybody now you can see you can see one two four there on the other on the far to the left you type it into twitch chat and if you're watching this on the replay in youtube I just want you to shout your number out loud because I won't be able
- 00:11:31
to see it in the chat but maybe their voice will carry through space and time okay I'm gonna I'm seeing an overwhelming majority of four oh here okay so I'm singing overwhelming majority of good alright so we can stop that we can stop the voting there it's not the put in there and then we'll go to we'll go to the what's the next part okay so the next part will be a body a body we have one to six so yeah what's this big blank space in the house that a body there's side parts are they attached to here I said you want them voting one to sixty one to voting 1 2 3 go 1 2 4 a 1 2 4 let's go once a for that'll be easier you're covering the
- 00:12:18
screen light they can see you're here cover the screen and I I adore it it's fantastic alright so so 1 to 4 in the center there one two four one two four wow that's voting and we'll just say that tell you like the UK so far pretty good that's pretty good somebody asked if this was a jar of jelly beans no this is a terrible terrible jar I found this wandering around the the office yeah that that's a jar with my head in it laughs thinking can I walk around with your head yeah somebody was yeah little I walked into the kitchen there to get something to drink and I saw my head in
- 00:13:06
a refrigerator I'm gonna say four again I'm gonna say 14 um before and not just not just because I express voted like seven times before don't don't don't do that don't do that pickles Huckabee okay we're just we're just gonna let that one lie all right what's our next part okay so the next part some wings oh you do have these like little attachments here as well I can extenuate the body or you've got these snipe pots let's do attachments vote zero five or six zero is no attachments or five or six it's it's right thing I wish I could do I have to
- 00:13:55
tell straighter on this thing I haven't talked to you I should have a telestrator I don't touch me looking at the attachments there well nobody wants five that's why five of course I say that in the five shot just like to be contrary have to be I'm not saying nobody voted for five Braveheart I'm just saying it's not it close to the zeros or sixes we're going we're gonna go ahead and say six six sweet so sorry buddies you usually go on just
- 00:14:52
yeah blend that in a little bit yeah sweet looking good awesome now do you want to work with that for a while I do you want to go straight to another part yeah we'll see if we can take some more questions a NIC BR six to eight says thanks I hate it it's it's very it's that's a very odd artistic answer is everything you make you absolutely hate no it brings up actually actually reminds me of a good point in visual design if art should evoke some kind of response and you you
- 00:15:44
you make art to evoke a response if something goes it's alright and whenever it's hard to say that you've succeeded in what you were trying to do if something is hated chances are something is very very much loved as well by somebody else you want to elicit those strong responses it's one of the things that's it's the myth of trying to please everybody is the road to mediocrity yeah even though you should even hate it it really did it's no no you mean it's you know without you definitely want to you definitely want to evoke a response so it's it's you know when people say oh I one of the one of the things I'd like so much about star citizen as a project is that with over a hundred and sixty some odd spaceships now 150 hundred sixty seven spaceships
- 00:16:33
yeah there are there are plenty of ships that that you know who people like and dislike for instance when the Terrapin was first introduced I hated the Terrapin like the Terrapin concept just did not resonate with me it resonated badly with me like I really disliked it wasn't until it was built by a wonderful artist in her life student named Jin I got to see him like bring it into 3d and build it I fell in love with it later through the buildings but it was it was very cool I really like that there are ships that I can really enjoy and stars in their ships that I just don't like it all I like the Dara stuff I don't like yeah you're never gonna like every chocolate in the box are you you're just gonna you're gonna pick the ones you
- 00:17:19
like can do you know galux later says easier to work with or without chair watching over your shoulder no I quite like a bit of company because I'm so used to sitting in the corner but you know by myself [Music] it's not just me watching the reeds it's all that's all eleven hundred and twenty six people watching and then the line in the thousands that are watch on YouTube at this point I should be used to it that's a tree asks a question it's not necessarily for my freshmen you know I just got thinking about energy
- 00:18:12
especially if we talked about manufacturers collaborating we've actually we actually do have a couple of those in the game that the star for Gemini for instance is a that was made by misc and then retrofitted by Aegis no the start the Gemini specifically alright well it was originally created by misc and then and then retrofitted by you just but yes you bring up an even better point is that most miss ships are a collaboration of at least tech between the miss manufacturer and the she owned the Terrapin not the turbine the tavar aspera Prowler if I remember correctly has you know it's divert the horn design but then the shield's come from something else the banner defender has she I think the better defender is supposed to have two barn shields at
- 00:18:59
this point where I'm getting mixed up with you know what's wife and somebody's gonna be like you are wrong you said it was there so whatever and I'm like Eifert and I'm gonna tell you I forgot Sara's name like 90 seconds ago so well you know well to be fair that these the Starfire engine room I did so that's why I know it's got John Taconic because it's a triangle for start so it's not a conformity shaped like a square and also on the side panel in is some Jean webbing than I did just to extenuate the the tech and the body of the engine so it's it that way back but still remember here's a question Sarah is it easier to use an already defined design like
- 00:19:49
having guidelines everything or is it do you prefer having no limits and just trying getting to start from nothing i I do I do like a pre like existing shape language just because it is it is easier to stop could you put it you've got an example that you know that you have to hit with something that has not been defined yet you get paralyzed by choice it is so much stuff that you couldn't choose from you can you can yeah it can be a bit paralyzing at times but it can be fun because obviously the Crusader stuff we have Mike's ship we had the Genesis Starliner and then Genesis airliner represent then we had the the
- 00:20:41
mercury which was a bit more softer and that was fun that was fun and then as I say the SRV was it was really fun because that was really industrial it's really cool how did you get started doing concept work for star citizen and I was straight to the University well I had actually been from the jacket I'd actually been also drawing a lot of 'wipeout craft and think like the spaceships us I originally wanted to draw a spaceship since under beds cuz like some of the bed too was almost my favorite my favorite ship and then when as they went to university and then
- 00:21:34
pulse all my work and then he been working here ever since Paul big up to big up to poor bastard spread everything he does sits right in front so keeps watch what's your favorite ship in star citizen at the hawk the hawk really I really really like the hook just like the angles of it it's quite it's quite aggressive which I really like and I think amble should be like you know quite aggressive looking and I really really like it so it's fun flying around in the hawk I really like it stunts as well when it's landed so
- 00:22:22
say it's quite aggressive I say really like that about it it's really fun let's see hawk is another way to spell more Jimmy sure whatever you got to do guys let's see we are taking questions for Sarah McCullen whose name I can't remember Hey she was a concept artist they should consider vehicle concept artists for platformer games are there any particular TV series as books or films that inspired besides wipeout Blade Runner okay besides believe that's like so yeah it's
- 00:23:11
very cliche but the new ones really good yeah but for fine and sci-fi artists in the last 30 years that hasn't been inspired by Blade Runner lost in space is goods Battlestar Galactica the new Netflix lost in space I was very pleasantly surprised and quite surprised like the expanse as well I've been watching of course to say the the old-school past like the new Battlestar Galactica in the olds I'll start after you have to watch what you did I noticed year we're never setting up I noticed your your box oh I'm sorry I I may or may not watch that on occasion when inspiration Star Trek as well I watched that since I was a kid
- 00:24:02
and then obviously Star Wars I remember me the first time we dad brought that home was on VHS with the foil cover and that's that's always stayed with me but I also like watching like sci-fi stuff as well it would sorry she pairs stuff like the boys recently watched that was really good as well so there's almost nothing about the boys that we can talk about on this show we mean fired what's very good what when I want you to lost the space not to harp on it then somebody said come back it's coming back it comes back in December I thought there was a lot of Mass Effect influence like I don't know who the production designer was for lost
- 00:24:53
in space but I'm watching it I'm like okay somebody's played a lot of Mass Effect this is this is it must affect was a TV series but it was a pleasant surprise like I say I am was quite present I wasn't really expecting anything of it and they just blew me away so when when designing this ship then you know it's gonna have an interior like the design brief says it has a dignitary you start with the exterior do you start with the interior and what we do is we usually do like a little box witches are just like maximum bounding box and then we can basically draw within that bounding box so I would
- 00:25:46
probably render off the maximum bounding box put it in this and then draw within that box just to get the weight and also you can sort of like define areas as well like this would be like the cockpit area so you'd have cargo say here maybe it's gonna rum and then if it's even bigger or something you usually have like a bed or a toilet kitchen type of thing I mean you can do that within the square of a bounding box or wherever you can plan it out in color click certain colors and things like that an then you can take into Photoshop do thumbnails and kind of got an idea of where you're going to go with got Slayers on fire or some good
- 00:26:35
questions today so when working on a brand like Aegis that has so many ships yes I'm working on our brand like Aegis that has so many ships do you find it difficult to find new visual cues to do since that manufacturer has seemingly been explored so much can be difficult I suppose I would reference every Aegis ship that we that we have we use like a raft board for a lot of this and then you can we've got like spaceship kits we import them and we can have a look over every
- 00:27:24
sort of hole we've done cockpits London gears wing shapes and try and steer away a little bit and breakout right that is there's nothing that says we can't expand a brand look at the look at what the Mantis does for the for RSI yeah you know it's it's the one of the I think one of the common misconceptions are traps that that everybody can get into not you not just us here but the community is thinking that a manufacturer can only be this or thinking or never I should only be this obviously we based and we based the entire manufacturer system on much like the real world look at a manufacturer
- 00:28:12
like Mitsubishi yeah Mitsubishi can make you know sports cars like the Evo or the 3000 GT and then make giant 18-wheel tractor trailers and then make tanks and then make televisions and none of them look anything alike but they all come from menisci or different divisions of Mitsubishi Mitsubishi the same way or if you you invert the example and you look at just one particular model like something like the Mustang yeah look at the Ford Mustang from 1960 to 2010 yeah and look at how much even one individual model from one manufacturer can change over the course of years with our history being 940 years in the future
- 00:28:59
many of our ship manufacturers have existed in the lore for hundreds of years so if if Ford can change the Mustang so much in just 40 years what how can a just grow how can an Ville grow you know within the course of a hundred years well that's in you'd expect to see like its I suppose it's it's interesting because you see like the new Fiats now they've brought the old model from the from the past right to the Future now and it's like but it's got that same style but it's it's still relatively well it is new and I just say it's like I'd expect it you know see these the new Fiats a good example that a bad example that would be like the PT
- 00:29:48
Cruiser they're trying to bring back Woody's and just like that's it's like something like say like but then you've got like people that love the classic don't you act like cars like the vault so I can be old right you know and then you then you have another phenomenon like wow many factors can affect other manufacturers and influence them like when the when the Dodge Charger came out the the the first generation revamp Dodge Charger in late 2005 2004 I don't know the year specifically yeah you then saw that trickle over due to Ford when they redid the Mustang to Chevy when they redid the Camaro to everybody ever and they all shared queues with that charger so so a really popular a design
- 00:30:40
choice and design aesthetic from one manufacturer then went and influenced others so neat when you see when you see when you see like an Aegis ship you go oh that looks more like an velour you see an origin shouldn't leo that looks my crusade or something like that it's like some of that's intentional we we love that mixture of styles in and the history just like we do in the real world yeah you expect to see like I suppose Q's it's like ah that's got like the DNA you know a just like the the Nautilus which is is quite a it's quite different for ages but it's really cool and he can see its DNA within that so it's really cool yeah John one says it was the challenge not
- 00:31:29
the charge it was actually both I think the Challenger may have come first but where I saw the paradigm shift from everybody was when they did it to the charger and I'm speaking only in my opinion here yeah it's it's interesting I say like I like I love classic cars like my favorite classic car exposes the Ford gt40 the older one and also the Jag e-type both from way back because it's just I don't know do just so stylish and it's something that I would love to just cruise around in and just be like look this is great sort of thing but I love a sale of classic cars and I say the cool
- 00:32:21
thing about making chips is you get to you ready for another part go on now what what are we choosing okay so wings yes because right now hold on let me let me be Paul Jones here the Paul Jones here nothing but love Paul I actually can't do it I'm listening you're like I didn't give me any made clothes I can't do it alright so we're looking at wings we've got what five selections that was a terrible Paul Jones of Britain the second he opened
- 00:33:08
his mouth I'm like oh I didn't know this one's a fight I mean if you're like if it it's too close we come due to vision well that looks like a pretty scene threes and fives I think I think threes are getting I have the edge here look I was just making a very respectable showing well murder on fire posted nine three so I'm gonna give it two three great yep very well hi Jared what brings you to the UK work citizen guys in like
- 00:33:58
four weeks three weeks four weeks that's a prep yeah no murder on fire completely cheated there he didn't eat it like it is like 12 threes in one line and I decided to give it to him because sometimes cheaters win it's not fair it isn't bull it's not fair I never claimed to be fair ask you the voting is already over so you just you just late to the party good ships be procedurally generated well I suppose some variation we do we
- 00:34:54
do procedurally generated Space Station's but I mean like I said yeah I mean just look at the variation that you see within Space Station's it's it's that limited amount of variation is fine for Space Station's but you wouldn't want that in a bunch of ships I don't know it's an interesting question I don't think I don't think we would though we we have a wealth of incredibly talented artists and while we have those people here I think it behooves everybody to use them rather than to start having a bunch of procedural generation stuff a lot of games I shouldn't say I guess but some games use procedural generation as the end goal like like they get to that point and then they're there and that's it yeah we use it as a tool almost as a starting
- 00:35:42
point you know everything that's precision generated whether it's our planets or it's our stations we use it to get us started and then artists from the environment team or whatever go through and then curate on top of that you know make sure you blend the biomes and stuff like that so we use it as a tool known as a and as an Indian you I go who says could you flip the wing I don't know I like the goal wings I'm a fan of goings but maybe it's something we can explore but I don't think we have enough goal wings in the game personally it's why I did them because I'm go well ghoul wings are like I wish we had today we should have more
- 00:36:32
of them really that's all standard yeah Gold Seal of Approval I personally like to see more of them because they are cool really they like the flaps are on the wrong side she's not done yet when I meet you at citizencon will it be too much to give you a hug who you're talking to you can't just throw a question out there like that not directed to somebody
- 00:37:26
what vo your art direction what do you want you want my art directional I feel like I feel like the the we have an issue of scale with the wings I feel like the body is so thick that those wings couldn't I think they're too light in the back I feel like we need to scale the back end like I haven't trouble believing that those wings could generate enough lift to get an se now we're at a point yet see I think we're getting closer to a believable those wings could actually provide some lift excellent you are gonna have to fix the flaps though because now that he's put that in my head the flappers yeah they're on the front big chunker wings that's that's a technical term you want
- 00:38:20
some big chunk of wings Oh wiring process is this a fighter I don't know given the size of the cockpit it could be a like a heavy fighter like a very heavy fighter could be definitely could be that it's whatever you want it to be looks like a Klingon bird-of-prey that's not a bad thing Holly I'm very brave I'm gonna say like the birds of prey I wouldn't trust a person who didn't like the Klingon burglary no it's like are you crazy Kat Navedo says who comes ultimately up with the shipping I can tell you from experience it's a very collaborative effort I have named several ships in the stars to the
- 00:39:09
universe we basic basically the call goes out we could we collect names from all over the place and that it's basically it's what you don't you don't say the this person or that person can't provide a good idea so but most of the names are decided by the lower team and the lower team is fantastic at taking in so yeah but I would say overwhelming when the names come from the Lord which ones did I name I name the Hercules it was originally it was just the the it was the star lifter we just called it was just called the star lifter through all of development and it was it was
- 00:39:59
like a week before it got revealed to everybody and I went to Chris and I was like it's missing a name what do you mean you say well we have the Genesis star later and we knew we had the mercury star runner coming up then you had the star lifter it's missing a name and he said what would you call it and I said well it's kind of based on the you know the c10 well you know the Hercules and stuff so they just called Hercules that's what it does hmm I named the the Vanguard Harbinger I named the harbinger partner the Vanguard pardon my name the harbinger because I was a big fan of the valiant comic book and it had just been reading much during that time or they were just talking you had a real engine during that time the c-130 we've already revealed that I'm having some serious jet lag today
- 00:40:51
I mean I've literally I've known Sarah for over a year and it got my name right our name like 30 minutes ago so I'm having some jet lag it's fine it's not intentional then what are one or two others but I it's hard from your remember right now but yeah well wasn't one that one of the best things about CID as a company it's the collaborative nature it's they're not gonna if you've got a good idea you've got our idea that can help the game move the game forward and make the game better they don't they don't we don't we don't turn you off because it's not your job or that's not your position or whatever but I'm very proud of that aspect of this company would adding two to the back and make it
- 00:41:46
work more to what the two wing do you mean to give it that looks like the end of the the f8 hmm yeah I just rendered and sketched over a few old older thingies we have I can't really recall the results result can you do the rest of this thing in a
- 00:42:35
transylvanian londo accent oh no count Disco's going into the egg you know it's like when Disney movies go back into the vault and you you can't buy them for a while count discos going back on the ball for a while so shave me good on it miss Bob I really enjoyed it oh you took the wing away don't take the wing away gotta keep the big goings see what number two no no no we just just as the but just like the but yeah just the but probably watch put the wings back just the bucket no no take the take the bit take the number two where he said it would you know I can help pull it back its bum I just spot to make bigger bump like a big bump a big
- 00:43:25
boom yeah a big butt what's that what's that song from spinal tap there's a song for spinal tap about big butts I can't think of it right now I can't remember life is an opportunity big bottom girls that's the Queen song but but was no no that's the Queen song but there's one in spinal tap I thought isn't there one in spinal Oh big bottoms which is big bottom boot yeah it was you know it's it's a riff on the queen's own but you know spinal tap by the way if you've never seen I've never seen spinal tap I've seen the film spinal this is
- 00:44:13
spinal yeah that's what I mean yeah it's just beat me it's been quite a while since of actually yeah since actually watched it for them they're like really a song about butts that you remember spinal tap yes but that's a-- instead if you've ever toured with the band before in your life you watch spinal tap more than just about any movie ever we would be it really being Europe touring and just every you know every bus ride or whatever's I put smiles upon it it is a it is a movie by non-musicians made for musicians the wonderful movie yeah I've never been on tour bummed so my family's dead
- 00:45:13
here's a question what kind of B I don't know what the question is I just and what I don't know it was just a question kind of B it's like have a question of the hit Enter the wings team too small now now let's talk about that I well I did vote to upsize than before I don't think we need to upside them anymore mostly because you know the ship's use a number of thrusters and most of the
- 00:46:02
ships life is done in space where it was like you know why do you even need wings but with the advent of atmospheric flight and whatever laughs you still have your ifcs you still have all your control thrusters and this one looks like it has a very hefty rear thruster so the weight I think though I don't think the wings here are necessarily the sole source of lift for the first ship like this it's the fact you could always pull back as well so don't worry goal wings that fold back we are that's the craziest I've ever heard good what were useful why not gull wings that fold back just like crazy its cutlets it's kind of like the Yui and I guess the
- 00:46:56
Ewing the Star Wars there's just you know forward and then that would blow your mind I'm out I can't I gotta add a process it's just you know why not we do here in concerts yeah you know just go galaxy brain now had a giant hurricane turret in the
- 00:47:47
middle do we have we have oh we haven't even done weapons yet no okay we have guns okay no no all right everybody we all know that everybody wants their ship to be the best ship and everything so that you know ever it you know nobody likes a ship they can't do everything so what do we want you what you want this a gunboat you want this a missile boat you want this a gunboat those are your two options there see the chat here then again if you're watching this later on youtube scream your answer as loud as if you're at work all the better getting everybody else to scream as well yeah that's not even close
- 00:48:36
gun vote vote Jen moat missiles are for people with expendable income so should we choose the big one obviously okay I based my entire self-worth on the size of things so I feel like that's like now the wings only only exist for the big boys okay so if so if you if your goal wings retracted at that point you've got a goal wing and you've got a weapon so there'd have to be like a pivot on the weapon itself yeah like they have to be a pivot you're
- 00:49:27
making trouble for systems design right now because they're gonna need a whole new kind of animation I am doing that I mean it's you know what we do we cause trouble here in concept you know you light up one in the middle and just you know Oh ever since retractable gull wings you you you've you've been you need to reel it in you need to bring it back there's a serious show oh that's serious development I thought you told me also not what's done by example in the last
- 00:50:17
five years but okay so those two big yeah they're not too big okay adequately sized all right um you know what you want them little tiny thing little peashooters thought you want Oh where's me you know do you want to come over and judge this ball see is this the art-directed you want to come over oh no there are cute little guns it's like exists in marshmallow London you know you have a part two editor it the dad like that's like a hurricane
- 00:51:05
turret like a bubble canopy since it's like second round it isn't it mm-hmm yeah big round bubble it's like a brown boy that's a trouble it is is indeed
- 00:52:13
this is a triple closer for sure this thing on it that's what you want sweet this is like an M 50 on steroids yes proper good firepower so you want causing some trouble in the vest you know so you wouldn't that's totally what I'd do triple closer
- 00:53:03
Northy okay now hmm I'm gonna throw you throw your loop here what are you doing to turrets on top one forward facing their turn this wonder we're facing oh those are nothing but trouble that's so Northey oh good so much damage and then okay and then missiles on the wings let's just make this just make
- 00:53:55
that that that's now do we I mean do you want my glass sighs well not we want to be able to do that that anime alpha-strike so you need a lot of smaller missiles as opposed to just a couple big ones yeah so maybe that can formation wouldn't they listen this is a junk room just watch him have a heart
- 00:54:45
attack Billy what have you done no girl like hey can you balance this for us hey hey please jump just be like look here to give you uh you know you want in it really really bad I'd fight though with my retractable gull wings I ridiculous I'm old yeah I don't know I think I think we
- 00:55:36
lose the retractable with that many missiles on there I don't just keep him others just standard standard fare yes as the Chadha said this is definitely punching above its weight class I think there's a little bit yeah it would is a bit crazy like both we'll see no you have to lock the
- 00:56:23
turrets the turrets could only turn you know 90 degrees 90 degrees laterally so they can't actually turn into each other you have to put some limits to lock it and then the bottom a giant store Oh box and give it cargo you just that's another thing just it's like just to make just to let the ship do everything at the bottom it's just a giant his door all walks just like a just like a super bucks big be on the bottom well it's option it's optional like that
- 00:57:20
like they were needed in this case it just you just give it the clamps at the bottom so you can pick up a storm box so you can just do all the I mean yeah you'd be pretty spoiled for choice for this thing like just it's a flying ballista so what is the name of this ship I think we can agree that it's it's it's anvil it's more it's a little more handle than then then a hard go especially since we've never seen an agro fighter now but uh vultures already taken all right no done jar Nader got it right off the bat it's the anvil
- 00:58:09
overkill although I do like dakka dakka dakka but the anvil overkill love it thank you it's gonna come to ruin your - lets yeah saving that image we're gonna senator john crew okay just see if he can hate me just any more than he already does oh we lost a missile oh we did we did yep my back that's a little backwards the overkill will have its it's all bits
- 00:58:58
back awesome that's a great name and then we'll tell them that it also has medical facility and that the ship team just has to figure out where to put them in the little bit concept doesn't worry about it no we do a spell that we just don't hate you at all but that's let's fill the screen with it so we get a nice good shot on the video all right we're gonna take our camera here so so
- 00:59:50
