Hey everybody, welcome to Wingman's Hangar episode 63. Eric Wingman Peterson here. This is kind of an inside look at everything Chris Roberts new epic space adventure game Star Citizen. We take you around the verse and get to meet with the teams and see what everybody's up to as we bring this game to you. We have a lot coming up today. We have Turbulent and they share a look at the organizations and how that's working on the website. We're going to have a guest later on today with John Erskine to talk a little more about that, but we have a package that shows you a little bit more about that. It was a big hit in October. I think you'll like what we're showing today. We of course have forum feedback today with your questions and a video from an old friend and we have an interview as I said with John Erskine. Let's get right to it. What are we up to this week? Well, lots and lots of crunching for dog fighting and I don't just mean the fajitas that we're having

  2. 00:00:55

for lunch. No, we're working pretty hard to make sure that we get the dog fighting module out in a reasonable time to where you guys can play it and have fun doing it. We have the big PAX East event coming up a week from Thursday. So, we're all working hard. All the studios are all putting things together. We've got Manchester working hard on the on the game play and the map building. We've got Austin working hard on the back end server support, the shield effects and the launch from the hanger and of course we have dog fighting being done from Santa Monica, which is where the core and the crunch of the work is. Um, we also last week had a next great Starship dog fighting team update episode one came out. It's kind of a way for us to show you what the team's up to while it's being made without giving too much of the dog fighting away because, you know, the reveal is coming on at PAX East and so

  3. 00:01:43

we don't want to reveal before the reveal, right? So, stay tuned for episode two this Friday. I'm sure Sandy will take us around the verse and show you what she's up to. It's going to be really fun. It's really cool to see what's going on with the team out in Santa Monica. Well, we had lots and lots of new hires this week. We have Philip Philip Howard in Foundry 42. He's a 3D environment artist. In Santa Monica, we have Dennis Daniel, an IT guru. Now, IT not IQ. IT. Apparently, this is a really big hire for us because our IT guy in Austin has been going crazy trying to support people from all over the place and this is a big deal. Dennis comes to us from I think Carl's Jr. Right Right is that where he's from, John Erskine? That's right. That's right and he's he's going to be helping us out in the Santa Monica office and I know for a fact that there's one man named Travis Day who's very excited about him being out there. In Austin, we had a few hires this week.

  4. 00:02:31

We got Todd Bailey, a senior systems designer. Dash Nemeth, that's right. His name is Dash. Senior technical designer. We have Evan Manning, junior designer, which is designer not. We have Benjamin Bectol, who is a tools programmer who's going to help us with the the devops or when this when the servers go live for you guys, somebody's got to be monitoring them. He's going to be one of the on the front line of that. And we have Aaron Schmizni. He's a senior technical artist. What does A SENIOR TECHNICAL ARTIST DO? WELL, LET ME TELL YOU. Whenever we have people from around the verse or other stuffs sent other groups sending us stuff in, instead of it going in the main branch, he's the one who checks for all the make sure the naming conventions are right, make sure the geometry is correct, that everything the animations are in the right place before we put it into the main branch so that it doesn't crash. So, he's very very important to this whole process.

  5. 00:03:20

Also, what else went on? Well, it's been a busy week. Martin Galway spent last week directing voice over actors for the MPC pilot voice to face capture. Now, what does that mean? Well, as you can see Martin's out there recording all these people doing voices for the bitching Betty, the people that give you alerts of what's going on or your wingman in the dog fighting module, things like that. These will be around for months for you guys to listen to and get your feedback. So, Martin did that. We we we got his first taste of the head cam, which you guys saw there, really really cool. We had a $41 million hit with a with a stretch goal reward. You read Chris's 10 10 for the chairman. Read Chris's post about this. It's very important. It's he's pretty good. He gives you an inside look of how cool it is that we're at that point and also kind of takes a look at why we're different than Oculus Rift in that regard and that we are much our money can all go towards software. We don't

  6. 00:04:08

have the hardware costs associated with that and Chris is always very very insightful in the industry and and in business in general. It's always good to read what he's up to or or his thoughts on things. So, I'd check that out. Um, the Idris is now a frigate. DUN DUN DUN. EVERY PEOPLE ARE ALREADY TRENDING THAT WAY ANYWAY. SO, you know, yes, we announced it. Go take a read on that in the comm link. Uh, we're doing reviews. We're changing the exterior, the bridge, the brig, utility, rescue ship. It's all being changed and it's going to be fun for you. And again, this is a refit. A lot of it based on what we need for Squadron 42. Right, Rob Irving? That's right. Indeed. So, there are people actually here that you can't see, but they're here in nonetheless. And so, that got a refit in. We also had Shroud of the Avatar cross promotion that's out there. So, you got to take a look at that. You

  7. 00:04:56

can take a look at the Vanduul pole arm that you get. You can still join if you want to. I think you can still join into Shroud of the Avatar and still get that promotion. Right, John Erskine? That's right. That's right. So, lots of people we're just checking with everybody here. 10 for the chairman came out Monday. This is just a week in review. 10 for the chairman came out. It's always good to see Chris and you know, make sure he's make sure he's getting his sleep. He's not these days, but it's always good to see what he's up to and and get those subscriber questions. If you are a subscriber, you got direct access to the man himself and you get those questions answered answered. And we had a Foundry 42 fan visit with Brian, Rob and David. And it was always really cool to see what's going on with we had their first visit or major visit with fans coming out to check out the Foundry 42 offices and see what's going on out there. They're super super talented group of

  8. 00:05:43

guys and I'm sure they'll be having more and more fans come visit especially if you're in Europe or the UK. You can come check out what's going on over there. Great great guys over there. PAX East is coming. What's going on at PAX East? Well, Chris is going to meet with the six most popular organizations or or six most active organizations out there. Uh, he's going to have a meeting with them. They're going to go over, you know, what they like, what they don't like, their their hopes, their desires, what they want to see in there. Uh, some of the organizations are going to be out there from the from the small side, QQOP, the oppression. We have ha, Aquitas, Aquitas Interstellar Risk. From the medium size, CFT, Confederation of Free Traders. And the Cove, Cosmic Ventures. From the large size, we've got LAMP, Loose

  9. 00:06:31

Association of Mercenaries and Privateers. Now, those of you who've been around a long time, you'll remember the LAMP from the opening first 24 hour live stream. It sits in my office. Still pretty cool. And we have Explore, Explore Self-Sufficient Deep Space Exploration. So, good for them. They get to go meet with Chris and that's going to be a lot of fun and and make sure he gets hit with some good questions. I know the man loves to to get out there and talk to the people and and have some fun with what's going on in the universe and give you a little insight in what's happening there. So, what does that bring us to? Turbulent and an organizational update. It's about time. I'm kind of getting tired of talking. Take it away. Hey everyone, I'm Sandy Gardner. I'm

  10. 00:07:24

here at Turbulent in Montreal. The guys are working on a lot here. Let's see what they're up to. So, I'm here with Ben Weibel Sejour and he is working on more than more than more than you want? No. More than one thing. More than one thing. Um, and I'm sure you would love to pick his brain about a lot of things, but orgs. We introduced the organization system back in October in Texas. Uh, so yeah, I'm Ben Weibel. I'm in charge of the web team. What I want to talk to you today about is to basically run you through the basic points of the vision that we'll have on the organization system. You'll be able to pick one of four organization types, either a corporation, which has a

  11. 00:08:12

mercantile intent, a private military company, which is sort of a corporation with a militarized force, a faith-based organization, um, where you can have your own cult in there, or a complete syndicate, which is basically a criminal organization. For the orgs to go from zero to 12,000

  12. 00:09:13

took about a month. It's crazy. It's exploding out there. I think the really cool thing about all the different organizations is all the artwork that they come up with, the different logos and, you know, banners and YouTube videos. Some of the stuff has really just blown me away. The Convoy is pretty interesting. Their banner is just, you know, the bull with a convoy on the forehead. And space out there is really unruly. Everybody wants to battle each other, take each other's loot. And the Convoy, all they want to do is just get it from point A to point B. So, it's pretty interesting to see their aspect on the game and how drastically it's different than everybody else. Another one is the Old Timers Guild. And there's a couple of couple of these who are dedicated just to older players who don't want to deal with the young, you know, players of nowadays. The age cutoff for the old-timers guild, I believe, is 25, but um I've seen up to

  13. 00:10:05

60-year-olds. I'm really excited for what orgs already are, and I feel like we're just getting started. Where are we going with it? We initially wanted the second drop to contain divisions and jobs, which is the two big concepts that we want to bring to the organization system, which will allow people to basically create their tree of their organization, right? So, like like the, you know, you can have the B wing and the, you know, 42 squadron and, you know, organize your organ hierarchy, uh put your members in them, decide on which leaders they're going to be on on each division. And then, so these become specific units of your org, of your larger or smaller org. Even small orgs can benefit from that. We're very excited about the upcoming features for the organization system. We're going to add an organizational

  14. 00:10:53

chart and some additional job functionality, so that organization leaders can add more structure to their organization as they like. For the next phase of the organizations, what we want to do is bring even more role play to the to the system. We wanted the users and the fans and the players to feel like they're not just part of the community, but also part of a a real chain of command. Um so, we want to allow the org leaders to create their favorite style of command. So, if you want to have one guy at the top in charge of all the other people, or you can have a shared ownership of an organization. Uh you can do that. Um and even with your with your divisions, you can organize them any way you want it. So, if you want to have a top-down, really intricate divisions and sub and sub and sub-divisions, you can have that. Or uh you can have a really leveled uh divisions, all all of them on the same page.

  15. 00:11:41

And then, secondary to that, you can uh decide on attributing jobs to your pilots, right? So, if you want pilots to be able to, you know, these guys are my defenders, right? These guys are my assault. Uh these guys are my miners. These are my explorers, right? I'm doing su- super simple examples, but this is going to be entirely user-driven. So, players can totally decide on, you know, what their job titles are going to be, uh just like they can do with roles and ranks right now. There's a couple of different organizations that have cool titles. Mostly pirates will use like captain or cabin boy, which is pretty interesting. And then, there's uh other ones like Sanctus, who go more of a biblical sense, where they have emperors, templars, paladins, stuff like that.

  16. 00:12:29

I've seen some really interesting organizations that go farther than our role system, where they have medals that they're going to assign to certain people within their organization. Like if somebody does an outstanding feat, they're going to get that equivalent of a purple heart on their forms or something on those lines. One really cool thing is that certain organizations show what ships that they have available to them. So, they'll have like 12 Cutlasses, two Banu Merchantmen. That way, when you join an organization, you know that you've got backup when trouble hits. So, they're taking it even one step further than we were planning on to already. So, multi-org membership was a big topic

  17. 00:13:19

when we launched the system. Now, to be able to reach the initial launch date, we decided to launch with something simpler, where our people would just be a member of one org. We will do a a separate drop just for multi-org membership. So, you'll be able to join more than one org. Uh now, the distinction is we still want you to have a main organization, which is your primary org, right? Which is a very important concept, because if you're going to be earning points or resources or anything, it needs to be attributed to at least one org, right? And so, we separate that from being a main organization, which is your primary, and then uh affiliations, which are, you know, if you want to be a member of the Corvette club or a group of friends, or, you know, you could be a member of a big guild and three small guilds or four big guild or it doesn't matter. You will have a main

  18. 00:14:07

organization. That is your primary affiliation. You can also have organizations that are not your primary, but they're just your affiliate. So, your main organization leader could tell that you're a member of multiple affiliate organizations, but it's up to you to determine whether you expose those affiliations to your guild leader or not. Now, the key here with multi-org is that you'll be able to hide your affiliations and your primary. So, you'll be able to say, all right, I'm a member of, you know, the good ships, and I'm a hidden affiliate of the evil ships, right? So, this opens up a bit of the spy game. Secret orgs. Secret orgs. There can be an air of secrecy or a little bit of espionage potential that's being introduced into

  19. 00:14:55

this. We think it's going to be a really fun element of the system. You could have alliance-type relationships between organizations. Uh it's not necessarily a formal alliance or war system yet, although that's on our long-term road map. I know that a lot of people talked about that, that they wanted to be able to do secret organizations. And what our from our reflections, what we decided to do is that it's not going to we're you're not going to be able to just toggle a checkbox and say, my org is secret and nobody can find it, right? Every single member of your org will have to respect the secrecy if you want it to be secret, just like secret organizations today. So, I could potentially have a secret Million Mile High Club org? That's right. For the wing commanders? That's right. All right. As long as everybody

  20. 00:15:43

keeps it a secret. Wow, that is really cool to see what Turbulent's up to. I know they've got a lot of plans, and I know we've had a lot of requests to join organizations, at least some of the Chris, myself, Sandy, Rob. Um but unfortunately, we are not allowed to join anybody else's organization, because it would cause some problems back and forth, and there could be like if we dominate the competition, then it could be that we get accused of cheating or the or the clan or the guild that we're in does, too. So, however, there might just one day be a Cloud Imperium Games clan or corporation. Lord knows we're going to

  21. 00:16:31

have enough people to do it. So, look for that. And now, Rob, do you know what time it is? It's time for There you go. So, Rob, how are you doing today, man? You all right? You ready for this? Good. Fabulous. Yeah? Did they pick any tough names for me, or are we going to Maybe. There might be some challenges. All right. If you I just read these questions. First time here, so that's the kind of that's the kind of preparation we do for this show for you. All right, from Tagrin. He says, "Hi, Wingman. In the upcoming dog fighting module, will there be a way to earn credits or other currency that we can use to upgrade our ships, or is the only option to go through the pledge store?" That's a good question. Well, we know for V1, there's not going to be anything like that. Um

  22. 00:17:19

obviously, in the long, long term, when this becomes the arena mode in the game, then you'll be able to earn credits there. We're still discussing when and if you can earn money in the game, but um in in the dog fighting module, but uh as of right now, no. So, not right away. Not not right away. Right, but we're looking into maybe implementing something like that later. All right. Yeah. Ah, here's a good name. From a Long Johnson. "Could we see some kind of interactive events down the line with citizens versus the dev team in the persistent universe? For example, the dev team Dread Pirate Roberts controlling a Bengal carrier, and us citizens fighting against it. All being streamed on Twitch like it was the most epic battle in the millennia. Please say yes." Well, Long Johnson, we'll see what Rob says. What do you think, Rob? Uh I I doubt there'll ever be a full us

  23. 00:18:09

versus them thing going on. We want to support our universe, not demolish it. But um there there will definitely be active dev participation in the PU. Right, and there might be some events going on where we announce we're doing something. We'll probably do something with other with other citizens out there, joining forces to do stuff together. That's kind of more the line of what we're trying to do there. From Fox. Woohoo. Barely able to get through that name. "Are you planning on keeping the title organizations, or have there been talks about using different things like fleets, squadrons, etc.?" Um organizations is is the the generalized term, and I mean, really, we're letting players decide. They just saw more about organizations, in fact. Right. Uh what what their organization is, really. Um so, don't think of that as limiting what you can be. You decide what your group is. It's

  24. 00:18:58

so, organization is just the blanket term. Right. You can have organizations for all kinds of things. That's That's kind of the flexibility of that. And see how we tied the questions in for your benefit? Wow. All right, from AC, another tough name. "What would happen if an organization's founder went rogue and booted all the members? If the organization had bought lots of ships and other loot, there'd be many upset citizens. What would protocol be in this situation?" That You know, that's a Actually, that's a really good question. It is a good question, but in cases like a lot of cases like this, you know, we don't necessarily have plans to directly interfere in that kind of player interaction. Now, you know, things things could change as we see how how the population feels about different things. But basically, my my thinking on this is, if

  25. 00:19:47

you see an organization where one person has all the power, don't join. Yeah, you shy away from something like that because um you'd put yourself in that kind of situation. And we're letting you know now that that might happen. So, you know, I'd prefer a got well-governed organization with a with a group of shysters over just one. Oh, it's time for video. Our good friend Kinshadow, take it away, Kinshadow. Wingman, there have been questions in the past about potentially hiding weapons or thrusters. I was wondering if you could potentially make a weapon look more impressive than it really is. Make a bomber look like a fighter or a pirate ship look like a military vessel. Thanks.

  26. 00:20:34

So So, what do you think, Rob? Are we going to be able to disguise our ship? Is Kinshadow going to be able to make make his Connie look like an Aurora? I mean, what's going on here? What What's he trying to do be a little bit extreme. Say loses some weight. you're not going to be able to be that heavily disguised, but we've we've talked about like the idea of of tucking away turrets. That that could happen on some ships at some point. Not that you've seen it yet. Um but for instance, we long time ago gave some players the Electra skin, our early backers, the Electra skin, which lets you change the paint job on the fly. So, that would let you change your pirate ship into a military-looking ship, for instance. So, yeah, there were And you can also spoof your ID. Spoofing your ID, that's true. You want to make sure that maybe you are not recognizable to certain uh policing events or policing types in that portion

  27. 00:21:24

of the thing. You might want to be the friendly pirate. Friendly pirate, Roberts. pirate I don't know about a friendly pirate, Roberts, but we'll see about friendly pirate, Kinshadow, maybe. All right, from Necro. Says, "Hey, Wingman, just wondering if we will ever see a Tevarin ship in the Star Citizen universe. I know that their empire has been defeated, but there have got to be a bunch of old repurposed ships out there. And if so, will they be purchasable?" Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. I always wanted more ships. Do we want to give this away right now? I don't know. Um no, but if you recall at the end of the whole Tevarin episode, uh they all dove their ships into the atmosphere and went kablooey. So, you know. So, no Tevarin ships anywhere? I don't know if there are many of those left in the verse. Not many left. Not many left, if at all.

  28. 00:22:13

Yeah, right. So, uh we'll see about that one. We'll see. Um from Ronan, "If two organizations are at war and there's conflict in UEE space, will the UEE security force intervene, attack both sides, or will they stay out of the fight?" We've had this question kind of in other iterations before, but it's pretty important and pretty easy to answer, I think. You kids, get off my lawn. Yeah, I mean, think about it in real-world terms. It's not like your your Crips and your Bloods are out there having a throwdown in the middle of the street and the cops are like, "Oh, well, it's just them." Yeah, but that Outside of LA. They're at war. in LA all the time, just saying. No, I'm just just kidding. No, you're right. They would absolutely You still have to maintain, you know, the whole point of it is that area safe and the police

  29. 00:23:01

protected, and they're just not going to let people go at it. Now, the exception to that is if they don't know about it, they won't interfere. So, if you can cut off communications, for instance, and no one sees your little battle going on, sure. Cutting off communications is a possibility, but it's not going to be easy. No. That'd be tough to do. Um that's pretty good, though. From Mandalore, "Will alien ships use the same fuel as the UEE, or will they use a different type of fuel to power their vessels?" Their vessels. Where do you keep the nuclear vessels? Sorry. I had caffeine. Now they're going to start talking about space whales again. It's all your fault. I know. I'm sorry. Um what was Fuel. Are they going to use the same fuel? So, the the simple answer to that is we're still discussing some of But

  30. 00:23:48

if it varies, it'll it'll probably vary differently for different races, too. So, no no hard answer on that yet for you folks. Right, but there you know, there's going to be lots of different resources out in the verse, and you know, we'll we'll figure out which what they use, but they'll all be out there flying around. So, from TVP Semantics, "Will there be other single-player campaigns or story content for Star Citizen after the initial release?" Uh yes. Yes. What What's the answer to that again? Yes. Yes. From One Against, "Can I upgrade my Cutlass to have a hookah and red puffy couches and upgrade my character to a shiny gold shirt? These intimidatingly awesome things will be helpful when I'm

  31. 00:24:36

negotiating the surrender of my prey. Would this be an example of proper use of upgrade slots?" Hmm, I wonder what show that guy has been watching. I checked the schedule just to be sure, and and the Mark Skelton package does not appear to be on it. What? How could that be? Might be an oversight. But then again, Mark's a character artist, so He could put himself in there. can tell what he might do in his off time. That's true. You guys got a glimpse of some of that last week when we showed him in there. And that shirt. Oh, goodness. Oh, yeah, the shirt's awesome. It smells like stuff that goes in the toilet, but it's great. All right, Rob, well, thanks a lot for for that interview. And now here's Ben Lesnick with this week's week week This week's most valuable post.

  32. 00:25:32

Hey, everybody. Welcome to MVP, Most Valuable Post. I'm Community Manager Ben Lesnick. And I'm Lead Moderator Will. All right, Will. I understand we have a pretty cool post to tell people about this week. We actually do. This week's MVP is by Ironic, who's created a video series called Star Guide, who where he goes very in-depth into certain aspects of the game. Most recently, his video goes into trading and how our Star Citizen ships will correlate with that and which best ones for certain price guides. Isn't it by Ironic? Uh no. The The It is a great video. I loved his joystick video. That was his first one. And I know we have a lot of Earth swell traders out there who are going to want to check out his guide to the different ships. Definitely, it's a great introduction as to what you want to buy for what you're

  33. 00:26:19

going to do. Well, thank you very much, Ironic. You're the most valuable poster. See you guys next week. So, usually fan focus, we take a look at some of the things people have in the forums, but since this is an organization show, we found one particular organization video that, well, it sort of tickled our fancy. So, take a look at Nexus. You know trading, be it raw materials to the Stanton system or exporting handmade Gauss and trinkets. You can get your lanes locked down and your hold full up. So, just when you're ready to hit the verse, that's when the verse hits you with pirates, rogue agents, Vanduul, pirates, space whales, raging space whales all take the shine out of your

  34. 00:27:10

bottom line. So, before you ship out, shape up with Nexus Corporation on your wing. You know trading, Nexus knows security. That was really, really cool. We love to see fan videos that are entertaining, and that was fantastic. And you guys have seen a few of those here. And look who's with us. It's John. How are you doing, John? John our steady buddy. Now, he is doing You're doing You're kind of leading the charge on the organizations, right? That's right. My team is working on that. Right. Now, we saw you a little bit in the video itself, but organizations are a big deal. How It sounds like a lot of fun. Is it Is it a good time doing that? It is. It's really cool because we're focusing on a core system that's going to be used so many different ways throughout this game

  35. 00:27:56

experience. So, it's really cool to be working on that. Now, you say used different ways. What do you What do you mean by that? I mean, how's it Well, you know, each module might utilize the organization function in a little bit different ways as it relates to that module. And And you know, it's not necessarily up to my team to define how that would happen for the different modules, but those teams themselves might want to have some aspects that are unique to first-person shooter playing that aren't relevant in dog fighting or something. So, Right. So, you're setting the sandbox for them to define how their organization set up and what its primary focus is or anything. That's the goal. That's pretty cool. And I know it was a big hit for us when we did it in October. People were like, "Oh my god, this is really going to be fun." Now, it's

  36. 00:28:42

been a little bit. How's it coming? How are we doing? Great. We've done several small updates to the system that probably people might not notice. We've added a bunch of additional functionality and capacity on the back end. We've tweaked some of the algorithms that show how organizations are ranked, and we've improved the system that's involved in inviting people into the organization and managing that process. So, we've done a lot of small incremental updates to the system since the major launch in January. And as you probably already know from watching the video, we have some new stuff that's planned that's going to be coming online in the near future. Well, that's cool, cuz I know people are really looking forward to it. Now, they're going to be pretty flexible, right? The organizations themselves, as you talked about. So, are you going to let Is there going to be one hierarchy like we talked

  37. 00:29:29

earlier in the show about, you know, if one guy ran off with all the loot or something like that? Or I mean, are you going to let it They're they're going to be able to be self-governed, or you'll let them set up how that works? The goal is for organizations to be governed by the organization more so than to enforce rules onto the onto the organization, but one guiding principle that we have from the design side is that we don't want to enable uh organizations to create bad experiences for people, but we want to create interesting experiences. So, you know, in the question that I heard you guys talking about it would seem like as an organization member, just like you said, you should be able to evaluate like what's the leadership of this organization like and do I trust these people? And I think that's kind of an

  38. 00:30:17

interesting thought process to go through as a player. So, that's our goal as a as a design principle. That's cool. And and And one of the thing one of the reasons we do all this together with the the citizens out there is, you know, once we get that out into the verse, we're going to you know, they're going to be able to give us feedback in what they like and you know, we always try to get everything we can in there, but sometimes, you know, we we might miss a few things that they think are important and I'm sure they'll let us know. That's Now, and we'll be malleable and agile enough to change for that, right? Yep. And that's one reason why we like to build things in a modular fashion. It's definitely a core value of our entire company and it applies here, too. If we can launch the next piece that we're confident in, it'll answer some of the questions we might have about the piece after that and the piece after that. So, we can use that feedback to guide our direction

  39. 00:31:05

over time. So, how do secret organizations work? Mhm. So, in the new in the in the upcoming uh module of organizations system, you'll be able to join more than one organization and you'll always have a main organization and your additional organizations would be considered affiliates. Okay. And we have to have something like that so that you can keep track of like scores and ranks and responsibilities in your main organization and your affiliate organizations are not quite as formal. And so, if you're a member of an affiliate organization, you could choose not to show that to your other organization mates in your main organization or even in your other affiliate organizations.

  40. 00:31:53

Now, the guild uh the organization leader, I tend to call it guild cuz that's what we call it in a lot of other games, too, right? But the organization leader can tell that you're in another organization, but you might keep it secret even from them. And so, they may have some questions for you to say, "Why are you in another organization and you won't show me?" And so, we think that would be an interesting conversation to have. It would be an interesting conversation. It might avoid a few a little bit of griefing that's going on in some other games out there. Not join in my organization. Yeah, exactly. You tell me what organizations we have ways of making you talk. We do have ways to make you talk. That's you join multiple organizations, um we just kind of talked about this. Do you have a choice of letting the primary know what you're in or not? So, it may be a requirement for that

  41. 00:32:41

organization. So, say I have an organization and I want to make sure that it's it's a complete fresh and so it part of the requirement of being in there is you have to show me any affiliates you're in. So, the choice then becomes if somebody comes in and says, "You know, I'm sorry. I'm just not willing to do that." Well, then that organization has a choice of well, letting that person break the rules or That's right. Boot them. Boot them out. And you know, we had some you know, as you can imagine, we had very lengthy discussions about some of these design decisions and we talked about whether we should make it an option for the guild leader to flag that as a system requirement to say it has to be that way. And ultimately, we decided that it was more interesting to not make it something that the system enforces, but

  42. 00:33:29

that it's more about the communication and the organizations, you know, uh governance policies of their own. And so, the system doesn't force you to do one thing or the other, but the organization leader and the people that are joining the organization or maybe even already members of the organization will have to have that discussion amongst themselves. Right. So, you want them to have the power. That's completely Yeah, we want them to define their own set of rules and act on those rules. That's right. We want to make it a robust thing and that's cool. So, what what else Now, we've got the big dog fighting module reveal coming up followed, you know, closely after that by the release or you know, what what are you guys doing to support that? What's going on with uh with Turbulent in the publishing side of things? We have a lot of cool things planned for dog fighting. Um the uh the main things that you'll notice

  43. 00:34:19

are that when you go to download the game, that first experience is going to change because today when that happens, you we know that you're going to the hangar module. Right. And the hangar module is going to remain the hub of all the interactions that you have with other modules, but we're adding quite a bit of functionality to that process so that people who are new to the game can understand what the different modules are, what the status of each module is and its development path. We're going to include uh some other relevant information like the monthly studio updates that we're preparing are going to be available in this page in a way that makes sense. So, we're trying to bring together all the information about the state of the game and the different modules into one place so that people

  44. 00:35:08

who may be new to the game or new to a particular module can tell what's up, you Highlights. Yeah. And so, that's going to be cool and that's coming with the launch of the dog fighting module. Uh we're also creating a system of a scoring system, a leaderboard system that'll be available. And there's some pretty cool stuff that we're working on for that. Um there's going to be a variety of different um leaderboards for different types of things that are going on in the game. Uh we're I'm not sure if it's going to be available right at first, but we're also working on a leaderboard system that's tied to organizations so that organizations can have rankings against other organizations and and so, there's a lot of cool gameplay that'll come from that. And you know,

  45. 00:35:57

the way that we work on the platform team is that we're building these little pieces and they all start to fit together. So, that's an example, right? Is that there's a fair bit of stuff coming in the new organization version that we just talked about that'll also have some application fast. I can't. Organization version organization version organization organization version organization version Internally, we call them drops, right? So, we're calling multi-org membership drop 1.5 and then this other stuff is drop two. So, there's some functions in 1.5 that'll also apply to these leaderboards. So, the way we work is it all fits together and we have a big roadmap of stuff and we're working on this piece and we'll pull it in over here and so, I think it's going to be pretty cool the way that this stuff uh that your experience on the web is going to supplement your experience in

  46. 00:36:45

the game and the way it'll tie all together. It's all about immersion. Now, now that's important. Uh and remember what they say about software development, the quality is job 1.1.
