Getting it running
- 1
Run the installer from your Downloads
Open SC Overlay Setup 0.1.39.exe. There's no wizard to click through — it installs and opens itself. - 2
Tell Windows it's fine
You'll get a “Windows protected your PC” box. Click More info, then Run anyway. This is expected — see below for why, and for the checksum if you'd rather verify the file first. - 3
Connect it to your account
Sign in here, generate a device token on the Setup tab, and paste it into the app. Your blueprints then sync both ways — the overlay fills them in as you play, and the site shows what's left to chase. Skip this and the overlay still works, it just keeps everything on your PC. - 4
Press F3 in game
That toggles the overlay on top of Star Citizen. Drag widgets where you want them, resize from a corner, and drop one onto another to stack them as tabs.
About that warning
The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows doesn't know who built it. Here's the honest version, plus a SHA-512 you can check the file against.
shieldWill my antivirus complain?expand_more
It might, and that's expected. Windows may show a “Windows protected your PC” box — click More info → Run anyway. A few antivirus engines flag it too.
Two honest reasons. The installer is not code-signed — a certificate is a yearly cost this project hasn't taken on yet — so Windows has nothing telling it who built the app. And the overlay legitimately does a few things malware also does: it watches for your hotkeys while you're in the game, it can read the screen if you turn that on, and it uploads item images when you opt in to contributing them. Nothing here is hidden — the source is public, so you can read exactly what it does.
What we can give you instead of a certificate is a hash. This is the SHA-512 of the 0.1.39 installer we built:
bhvny+syrj6FFsOcrL47ic2f9GpMAib58Nh/U1+xRKzins8DikGEgyTn7OknnUctSl+O/uUBuhoQQgyrZh6YzQ==Check your download matches — paste this into PowerShell:
[Convert]::ToBase64String([Security.Cryptography.SHA512]::Create().ComputeHash([IO.File]::ReadAllBytes("$HOME\Downloads\SC Overlay Setup 0.1.39.exe")))Same string back? It's the file we built, byte for byte.
Still blocked, or your antivirus names a specific threat? Tell me in Discord with the detection name — false positives can be reported to the vendor and cleared, and knowing which engine flags it is what makes that possible.

The one step that needs the website. Takes a few seconds.

Every widget, running live in your browser — no install needed.
The app updates itself, so this is the only time you'll need this page. Read the changelog to see what's new.
