Data feeds

Building a Star Citizen tool? These feeds are free and read-only, and you don’t need a key or an account. One credit line is all we ask.

Subscriber Store

Every item currently in the RSI Subscribers Store: the same list as the Subscriber Store Viewer. We check it against RSI once a day, so a new item shows up within about 24 hours. Items RSI removes drop out of the feed.

Images

Item names and images belong to Cloud Imperium Games / Roberts Space Industries. We host copies so tools don’t have to load them from RSI’s servers. We can’t grant any rights to them, so use them the way CIG allows for fan content.

Please download each image once and serve your own copy rather than loading it from us on every page view. When imagesUpdated changes, download that item’s images again. The image URL changes too, so a cache can’t hand you the old picture.

How often to check

Once a day is plenty, since the list only changes when CIG adds or changes items. Send the ETag back as If-None-Match and you’ll get an empty 304 when nothing has changed. The limit is 60 requests an hour per IP address. Past that you’ll get a 429 with a Retry-After header. CORS is open, so you can call it from a browser.

Fields

id	RSI's own product id. It stays the same when RSI renames an item, so key on this.
name	The item name as RSI lists it.
priceUsd	Store price in US dollars, before tax.
rsiUrl	The item's page on the RSI store. Only subscribers can open it.
position	Order in the RSI store. 1 is the newest item.
images.thumbnail	818 × 288 card image, about 125 KB.
images.full	Full-resolution image. Some are over 10 MB.
imagesUpdated	When the pictures last changed. Download them again only when this moves.
updated	When anything shown for the item last changed.
lastUpdated	When anything in the whole list last changed.
lastChecked	When we last compared the list with RSI, whether or not anything changed.

What changed

If you only want the differences, use the change log instead of comparing whole lists. It’s the same data as the Change Log page.

Endpoint

GET https://subliminal.gg/api/v1/subscriber-store/changes?after=<seq>

Every change has a seq number that only goes up. Save the next value from each response and send it back as after next time. You get exactly the changes since your last check, oldest first. Leave after off to get everything from the start. If hasMore is true, ask again straight away with the new next.

kind is one of added, removed, returned, renamed, price or picture. before and after hold the old and new name or price. itemId matches id in the main feed.

images.before and images.after are thumbnails saved at the moment of the change, so the old picture is still there after RSI replaces it. Thumbnails only: the full-size version is kept for the current picture alone.

schema goes up only if a field is renamed or removed. New fields can appear at any time, so ignore ones you don’t know. If the feed answers 503, keep your last copy and try again tomorrow.
