  4. 00:02:42

welcome everybody to citizen spotlight our weekly look at the amazing content creations made by you the star citizen community and joining us on the show this week if someone who's no stranger to folks who have been following the project since the very beginning one of the original star citizens and composers Matt Fossum Matt how you doing man doing great they could be on the show now Matt you've been composing star citizen music like I said almost since the very beginning of the project once you tell the folks at home who aren't familiar with you exactly who you are and what you do oh thanks well I'm a professional Symphony Orchestra musician and I play over Oh professionally and I also like to compose music kind of being steeped in so much I want to write my own when star citizen was first introduced I started went crazy one day and wanted

  5. 00:03:33

to write some music for it just as a fan and you know didn't know if those going to be taken seriously or whatever and then I found out that there was a span show called wingman's hanger that was going to be delivering the news they took contributions from another citizen for a logo and I thought how about if I do some theme music so over the course of three days I just started writing out this full-blown orchestral piece and they liked it so much when I sent it in that they used it for their credits now of course over the years you've collaborated with a whole host of star citizen's once you tell folks about those collaborations yeah I compose the soundtrack or will be music for fat girl first our systematic synonymous and she's different ends day and all that the grievance star citizen report I've done fair opening credits

  6. 00:04:22

music I also did the music for my hogs nail his stuff too I did some things for him and also this group of like 11 or 12 of us kind of the old guard color self the motley collaborators I ended up being sort of the soundtrack those are some of their projects we did this big one called saving citizens to help fundraise now of course the star citizen community isn't the only place where people can hear your music I understand the term music is actually in the game that poor olace art tell us about that that's right yeah um Pedro Camacho and I have become friends of a passion and just innocently I said hey look if you have any oboe parts that you love me to look at as a novelist I'd be glad to check it out just to contribute no fee or anything like that and he said

  7. 00:05:12

are you kidding I'd love to have you actually play a solo on the soundtrack and then it was like yeah whatever and that idea went away for a while and then all of a sudden I get a message from him on Google Hangouts saying hey man I've got a job for you and I said are you kidding zip you know as I can hear it is he sends me the music and he tells me how to position my microphone I record myself playing the solo solo 16 times he took about I think take 8 and that's what you're here in port olisar when you spawn in and there isn't any crazy activity around well Matt thanks for taking the time to finally appear on our show with that let's find out what's happening this week in star citizen everybody me again here with another

  8. 00:06:09

episode of quantum questions where we take a CID developer put them on the hot seat and make them answer as many questions from you the star citizen subscriber as they can in under two minutes joining us on the show this week is lead technical designer at a foundry 42 UK mr. John crew John how you doing man I'm good I'm Tony I'm doing well thank you for being on the show we've been taking it for a while it's almost done yeah in 2014 but wah wah all right it's almost done we got two minutes left let's put two minutes on the clock and we get what is your name and what do you do my name is John Cranley technical designer here at foundry 42 and what are you working on right now right now we are looking at all the balance work for all the ships in 1904 3.0 ok what is the toughest part

  9. 00:07:00

about balancing so many ships the toughest part is that there are so many ships those there's more than 50 in the day and they all have to feel different to each other and be enjoyable especially when everyone's got their favorite ship and they want their ships be the best oh okay what is the best part of our balancing solutions I because there are so many you can do lots of nice little interesting things and seeing the owners feedback on what you've done to their ship and how much they like it or dislike it and then do something about it what can you tell us about being able to rock our ships so that's something you'll be able to do in 3.0 you can do that at the moment from the dashboard in warship there's a

  10. 00:07:50

interaction the dashboard which locks or the external doors so when you press that you're the only person that can expose doors until you press the button again to allow everyone to see how it's flying in hydras different than flying on morning it's obviously much slower and you've still got manual control like the smaller ships but see it's it's much more reduced in its rotational velocities but it's also going to be the helmsman's display say it's more flying by weight points what work has been done on making turns better so I'm actually in a meeting straight after this where we're going down into the progress we've made on turrets they completely change with their setup in lighting tomorrow so a lot of the features like Shara

  11. 00:08:38

stabilization and tracking is getting I already look at and how much do you dread when Jarrod asks you to be on a video lots in avoiding this one's okay well that's it times up you did great Jon see easy holding easy-peasy it's right so thank you John for me on the show and what's fine how you did and so John crew goes on the board with a total of eight questions answered correctly it's not quite enough to dethrone Mike Jones but you know better luck next time John for those of you watching remember you can submit your questions for consideration each and every week by submitting them into subscribers den up on spectrum so for quantum questions i'm jared huckaby let's throw it over to whatever the next segment is and find out because I don't know if it's Alexis I just thought it hello everybody and
