[Music] everyone and welcome to citizens of the stars our weekly look at some of the amazing content created by the star citizen community now before we get started I know I'm standing in front of a green screen because Jared had this crazy idea to say hey let's all stand in front of a green screen and we'll have some crazy behind it now I hope he doesn't put anything that makes me look like an idiot because I don't need any help in that regard anyway let's throw it over to tyler witkin who doesn't have a green screen and see who's he interviewing for this week's citizens spotlight hey everyone and welcome to another installment of citizen spotlight we take a moment to

  2. 00:01:03

highlight the incredible contributions made by you the star citizen community people like this who happens to be a local Astro pub how are you doing doing good how are you - I'm doing well good to see you welcome to the lobby well thank you for inviting me yeah so why don't you guys take a minute and tell them a little about who you are and what you do well my name is Paul beserker one Batman Shelly I'm a self-certified space bartender and I serve the Astro pub which is your space bar at the end of twitch now I understand you have some ideas for the Astro pub in game yes the goal is to convert a ship into its own floating bar and there we're gonna have people from bounty hunters - mercenaries or explorers and traders come in get a drink talk about their day and you know promote some emergent gameplay and I dig it and what can people expect to find when they come to twitch.tv slash the

  3. 00:01:50

Astro pub well we do a little bit of old games a little bit of new games a lot of star citizen mostly space and science fiction you might be able to see a rocket-launching land what is the captain's table well the captain's table is a podcast where I bring in people from all over the community people like more gamer and grey-headed gamer and well you know what could probably take me longer to actually describe who hasn't yeah I was gonna say are you really gonna list everybody because there's been a lot of guests on that show and and how long have you been streaming star citizen for years impressive now before we go is there anybody want to give a shout-out to not someone but some thing we're gonna be doing verse con here on October 27th and 28th here in Austin it's the largest North American fan convention for star citizen and we're gonna have

  4. 00:02:40

some good time we're gonna have some eSports a watch party some panels and just lots of citizens getting together and sharing the good times and good word about star citizen that sounds great is there a website you now's your chance to plug it yeah first calm Dom okay awesome well that's all thank you so much for coming thank you much appreciation and for everybody else let's find out what's going on this week in star citizen hey everybody been here welcome to quantum questions the part of our show where we ask a real CAG developer quantum questions what's the catch I

  5. 00:03:29

have to answer in under two minutes and we'll count how many they got and see who the winner is today our guest is actually I'm kind of tired of brick mr. Huckabee give me some trains and here's our guest mr. Eric Lake hey Ike how you doing doing good what would you like for your background I would like a dragon all right you ready for quantum questions yes how many do you think you're gonna get I have no clue all right please put two minutes on the clock and go what are the benefits of motion capture well the main major benefit for motion capture is a fact that obviously makes animation pipeline a lot easier what are the major motion

  6. 00:04:20

capture methods mechanical optical and that's all I can think about top of my head which method of motion capture do we use we use optical why do we use optical because it is more accurate than other systems what's the difference if you motion capture and performance capture motion capture is more so just regular day to day to day like body capture where performance capture is more so having the actor giving a performance where say examples of motion capture is I need you to a walk I need you to run vice-versa what types of motions can be captured anything you think of how much space does the motion capture shoot take up

  7. 00:05:10

depending on for us it can be 30 by 30 or more depending on what we're shooting for what is real-time visualization during a motion capture session real-time is literally just having everything working in real-time almost as if like say VR but everything is presented right in front of you like through either a camera or through a monitor so even a virtual world where it basically hasn't been as access of you running into that world what's the capture speed of a typical optical motion capture system normally runs out 120 Hertz but depending on what your system is and what the camera were you we use usually I think it's 60 frames per seconds or 30 frames but

  8. 00:05:58

depending equipment can always change because usually it's around 30 6120 how many actors can be tracked at a time Oh depending on the volume it can be 5 to 50 what thank you very much an awesome job I actually learned about motion capture let's see how you did well that was a heck of her performance mr. Eric link goes on the board with 9 questions and they were all serious no joke ones so that is pretty spectacular you know what I'm tired of trains give me a dragon - all right over to Alexis with subconscious hello everyone and welcome to another edition of subconscious

  9. 00:06:46

I'm your host Alexis and it's time to find out what's new in the world of star citizen subscriptions first of all we're looking out for number one x1 that is origins new space bike is available in the pledge store this week and we're celebrating by showing you how the art team at foundry 42 came up with such a cool different vehicle design in this week's vault check it out next up it's a new month which means that you have a new ship of the month or should I say ships I should say that because an honor of star citizen's October 10th birthday we're letting subscribers play with not one not two not three not four but five different classic star citizen vehicles all month long you'll get access to the original five the ships we kicked off the crowdfunding campaign with the RSI roarin constellation anvil Hornet origin 300 I and misc freelancer that's a lot

  10. 00:07:36

of ships happy birthday star citizen next week you can look forward to a new flare item one that we really think takes the Drake schematic blueprints for the Dragonfly and caterpillar will emerge from their respective crystallises to join your ever-growing collection of cool hangar items it's in the wings that's it for this week subconscious but tune in next week for more excitement until then I'm Alexis and I'll see you all in the den hey everybody welcome to this week's top five and MVP but uh fun with green screens huh but green screens at least there's not a giant tyler witkin in a big Uncle Sam hat buying me is there number five crashed Cutlass by Robert

  11. 00:08:25

chief now Robert chief has created a scene featuring a crashed Cutlass and what looks like an RSI Ursa Rover in a mountain winter wonderland and rendered it out in blender it's here because I thought it made for a pretty nice wallpaper so good job number 4 and Volk eric video - whereby tack ghost tack ghost and his brother made a fun tour of the original concept model for the anvil carrack it's on here because I know how much you guys love the carrick the carrot the carrot the carrot so here's the carrot honestly it's pretty cool number three The Gathering Storm by Red Eagle with 3.0 on the horizon star citizen Red Eagle made a nice little video tribute to the fun he's had an alpha 2 point 6 so we'll miss you 2.6 hi Who am I kidding bring on off a three point old man and

  12. 00:09:12

number two is a double feature two different origin 500 I concepts by dog stealer and Telecaster I'm gathering they were inspired by the recent resurgence of origin spacecraft and these two citizens each came up with their own independent ideas for a hypothetical 500 series spacecraft so I thought it'd be fun to share them both of you today good job people and finally number one and this week's MVP is night 55 and his citizens of the Stars Hall of Fame Google spreadsheet it's a one-stop shop aggregate of all 35 prior episodes of content featured on citizens of the stars and I'm not about kissing up when awarding an MVP from time to time so congratulations 9:55 you're this week's MVP back to you Tyler well that's all for this week's show a

  13. 00:10:06
