[Music] welcome to episode 29 of around the verse I am Sandy Gardner and I'm Ben Lesnik Ben is back from Austin as you can see I'm happy to have you back actually I am very happy to be back uh although it was a great trip we got a lot of footage for the show uh the office down there is incredible now it's it's so different than it was when I was working there uh they're doing great things that's exciting and pack South Town Hall a big success you know we weren't sure what exactly was going to happen going into our town hall but uh it turned out great everybody got to meet with the devs we got to see see I

  2. 00:01:00

think more of the persistent Universe than anyone has seen yet uh and if including yourself including myself yeah and if you're out there uh wondering when you get to see that we are going to be releasing those throughout the week so hopefully all of the panels and uh Chris's keynote will be available by tomorrow and to check out a little trailer or some Snippets St check it out here you go oh two days are left on the preat sale so

  3. 00:02:09

if you would like to pick up one of the uh Star season limited ships before uh we are charging vat you can uh do so uh by end of day Friday we've added the Carrick and the reclaimer and the Harold uh so wave three ships we know everybody wanted additional ships uh we put them in the store please uh get them and enjoy so at Pell we also hit 70 million incredible I mean thank you to everybody for continuing to make this game possible I think the best fact about this is that it was during packs Chris was up on stage spending you know five or six hours talking about exactly how the game will work so people can see that there is a game it is coming together uh it it's thank you all for that I think it was valer who got us across the line too one from one of our French guilds congratulations you re mer

  4. 00:02:58

yeah Messi Boku you re received a phoenix I hear that's an extravagant gift we released 1.0.1 and then a hot fix to repair the Aurora so 1.0.1 was our first Arena Commander update of the year it uh addressed a lot of balancing issues things like missles it also fixed a lot of the bugs we discovered over the holiday break unfortunately in the process we managed to break the uh heat system on the auroraa so we gave all of our Pilots 300 eyes for the weekend and we issued a hot on Monday so everything's good now go out there and fly or we our Pilots I saw the infiction recall I quite liked that I enjoyed that yeah I got some Flack for the uh the names in that people figured that out oh you did oh the uh what was it Les spck I don't think it was that lesic by the way

  5. 00:03:47

guys I've been doing that for months so go back into the archives and find the others and now it's time for news from around the verse starting with Arena Commander landing gear animation has been fixed on several ships it should come as no surprise to folks who are familiar with how complex our ships are that uh one of the newer systems in this case Landing would be uh breaking regularly the uh interesting thing about star cisson ships is that we've constructed both them and the worlder which inhabit in such a fashion that when we break things we're breaking them in the same way that an actual ship might break so if we happen to cause some problem with the heat pipeline the guns overheat or if we cause some issue

  6. 00:04:37

with the landing gear they don't deploy properly which is what lets us do things like the Aurora recall a fuel system has just been added to missiles our missiles are actually a great microcosm for following development of the game we start off with very simple you know fire it locks on target it's a missile as we go forward we're balancing it and we're also adding more and more systems that are necessary to missile functionality so now we've got a fuel system missiles come out of fuel missiles have to have fuel given to them and of course they're going to be part of the economy they're going to have increasingly complex sensor options uh watch missiles they're growing just like the rest of the game and of course the 350r thrusters have been adjusted constantly uh improving the thrusters for a racing ship Squadron 42 the conversation system proof of concept is ongoing the uh conversation system is not quite like anything you've seen before it's not the Mass Effect

  7. 00:05:25

dials it's not the wing Commander look up and down I don't want to say much more cuz it's still very very early but it's it's going to be cool three more Vandal ships are currently in the concept phase the guys in the UK are just doing an incredible job of turning out vandu ships I remember you know we we've had the one Scythe for months and months and months and suddenly I look at shotgun and we've got a destroyer and a cruiser and a gunboat and all these cool designs that are actually coming together very quickly because we have a style guide for the vanuel out looting code is ongoing that's for the uh firstperson shooter aspect of the game you know picking up Dro weapons equipment that sort of thing persistent Universe concept art for Anthony Tanaka's statue on Nicks has been completed now I'm going to admit I don't know who Anthony Tanaka is but knowing Dave hadock he has quite a bit of backstory already

  8. 00:06:13

ready support for buggy skins has been implemented which hopefully you guys all saw last week you can now skin your buggy in one of seven different ways and uh more are coming the cool thing about the buggy skins though is that this is the tech that we now apply to the ship so you're going to see AAR skins and 300i skins and all ship together skins uh Shut Up And Take My Money skin shut up and quite a funny backstory chat user interface is being designed and mocked up so of course you're going to have to talk to other players in the persistent universe and uh we want you to do that in our game rather than switching to some other client ships multiple Vandal ships have continued in the gray box phase these are in addition to the three Vandal ships that just be again

  9. 00:06:59

concepting this week uh we've got a whole Fleet in development new damage Tech has been implemented for the Gladiator and Gladius uh that's actually one of the reasons we don't have any new flyable ships this month is because we are uh switching how we do damage States it's going to make it much easier in the future to release ships more quickly cuz they are uh they're not you know we have to paint in each individual pixel anymore but it is delaying some of the uh ships like the Gladius and the Retaliator getting them hanger and flight ready and the bulldog has been re named the Vanguard I'm very sorry James what's his puppy's name again uh Tifa Tifa that's right FPS module sniper rifle model has had its first art pass if you guys are familiar with the FPS weapon we relased last week the handgun we're striving for that level of quality

  10. 00:07:48

with all of our uh FPS guns and of course we're going to have all the standard classes sniper rifle Assault Rifle handgun machine gun and so on I actually went shooting the other week I saw that on your Facebook why didn't get video I thought I do have a video oh well I'll show you I did quite well actually uh animation for Gravity generator has been fixed that's part of our big demo level that's going to show off the Zerg fighting the battle arena has received a text repass on the exterior of the station battle arena is looking great you guys have seen the concepts and uh now we're starting to get some of the actual level building done so let's go over to mark for this week's episode of bug Smashers everyone welcome back to Bug Smasher everyone welcome back to bug

  11. 00:08:37

Smashers pop culture movies clever reference bug Smashers bug smashes hey everyone so we are here to look at why the Aurora as you can see here got got recalled so let me move this guy over so here we are in our fun little test map and I'm going to pop into the game and on the very bottom left you'll notice as I'm shooting let me take a bit and I stop shooting my heat no longer dissipates and that was a bug so apparently on the Aurora classes ships uh there was a

  12. 00:09:27

little fun bug where the weapons would actually not cool down and if we actually look at our pipes you could see that every single heat pipe is massively failing not good the the coolers are actually trying to cool for you'll see in the green uh little thing that it's trying to cool for 300 and 300 so and the on the yellow area the one two 3 fourth one down is requesting 1,300 um uh units of heat to cool off so we only have 600 available yet we're asking near double for one item and that's a problem and that's coming from the power plant and that is way too much what

  13. 00:10:17

happened was if I move over here to our little script um here is the Aurora power plant and it is actually requesting 2500 power not a big deal and it's supposed to how much power was actually it can um I should say it can do up to 2500 power I hate doing these intros sometimes you get you get so much extra footage don't you and it may not actually do 2500 power because it depends how much power all the items want so if we only have like two guns requesting 100 it's not going to give you 250 it's just going to give you 100 but it can go up to 250 and the heat is supposed to take whatever is getting generated so if we

  14. 00:11:06

have those two weapons only requesting 100 it's supposed to get 100 and multiply it by a fraction value and that's how much heat was generated instead what the code was doing as you could see here if I put them side by side it was actually requesting the full amount so it took the 2500 and then multipli that by this value and that's where we got 1362 and just to show you if I look at our power um we're only requesting uh 200 power yet we are handling all of the power to the heat so there are actually two bugs here the one this was never supposed to be 2500

  15. 00:11:55

it was actually a typo when we generated our scripts so that should have have been 500 and two um the amount that comes to the heat shouldn't be the full amount it should be that amount that the power is actually generating which is uh 221 so if we use our little trusty calculator to do 221 * 0.4 so what was the value 425 we should be requesting or generating 93 heat not 16 or300 what we did for 101 hot fix was we brought this back to 500 cuz that was a

  16. 00:12:42

typo however for the next version what we did is went into the code and looked at what was happening so here's our pipe connection which determines how much energy or heat should be created or REM moved and this gets called every frame um and processed every frame and this is basically our core function to figure out from this block what we're actually generating or what we're actually need to generate so here's our little area our little bit of code that will actually from the heat portion ask the power what its current state is

  17. 00:13:29

and since if you notice here we flush the value if the power happened before the heat then that means um this value got reset which means we're getting the full 2500 which means it's not looking up how much we actually sent out which is not what we want so we took this little block of code popped it in earlier State called call or calculate state which will happen before all the request values get set and then we built it and what that will do is um all the infrared will figure out how much power it

  18. 00:14:17

needs before the power plant resets so if we only needed that 221 power mind blown it will then actually get that 221 power here and multiply it by that 425 and give us that 93 is value instead of resetting it and giving us the full 2500 so we'll pop into the game all right so we are back inside um the editor um let's start shooting as you can see the heat is slowly dissipating and if I turn on the pipe debug you can see on the fourth one down from the top we are at that 93 is value as we should be

  19. 00:15:07

so yay works as expected want to shoot of course it's going to make request more from the power plant because the power we're requesting more power when we shoot yep now we're requesting 400 then 221 400 221 all right excellent so there is our lovely fix woo so there we go the Aurora got recalled and bugged out because of a slight XML typo that happened to get slipped in at the last minute and no one noticed until it was too late and that value and the XML just like nearly quadrupled the power uh output of the power plants which exposed a completely different bug which is um

  20. 00:15:57

our power plant will take whatever power is generated and transfer that into heat however it wasn't getting what was generated but rather what the maximum value was and generating that into heat so if my power plant has a maximum capacity of 2500 it will even if it was only generating 100 it was taking that 2500 and generating heat off that which caused all the radiators in the Aurora to just explode well not really explode but overheat and couldn't cool off anything uh so for the 101 Hot Patch we reverted that 2500 value back to 500 cuz it was a typo and the fix that we're putting into 102 is the proper fix so that if we're power plant has has the ability to generate 2500 but it's only

  21. 00:16:46

generating actually 100 it'll only make heat off that 100 so there's our fix hope you guys enjoy and auroras are now fixed up after that lovely recall I UND did two lines in the code to show the bug I forgot to redo one of them thanks Mark he's poor like Mark he's limping around have you seen him I've have not seen him yet I we're that busy we can't go next door now to our Intrepid CS team for an update on support ticket Mountain hi and welcome to customer service my name is Chelsea and I'm Alexis we'd like to update you that we are still very backlogged we've had the perfect storm from the holidays sales and new laws coming into it effect so if your ticket has not been answered it will just be patient and stick with us we really

  22. 00:17:35

appreciate it and I've got a merchandise update for you uh we've closed the pre-orders for the Mustang mouse pads Squadron 42 t-shirts and second Fleet dog tags however the Mustang mouse pads are ready to ship so you should be receiving your shipping information within the next few weeks for those of you that weren't able to pick up the AMD Mustang Omega package they have restocked on codes so you should be able to redeem that through their website now and that's all for this week chus out thanks ladies now over to James who sat down in Austin with some of the newer Community team members thanks guys now I'm here with two of our newest members of the community team well Ryan actually isn't very new but we wanted you guys to formerly meet him and Jenny is brand new so why don't you go ahead and tell us about what you do oh

  23. 00:18:23

starting with me I guess uh well my name is Ryan Archer and I am the marketing artist uh for the cloud and premium team basically what I do is uh I work with David ladyman that's my big claim to fame uh so I work with uh art for jump point and for the uh ship brochures which you guys see every time we do a ship sale and most of the stuff you see on the web like in the store and stuff is uh me either taking pictures of it or uh trying to get like concept art up there and stuff so I do a lot of the stuff that you see and I'm just kind of behind the scenes behind the scenes man you're also the one who puts helps put together the presid presentations oh yeah yeah that's that's another big part of the job that kind of up we had some fans come in yesterday and you were the one going around with the camera taking pictures and stills and stuff yeah I

  24. 00:19:11

take pictures every once in a while multifaceted man yeah hi guys my name is Jenny Varner uh I've only been here for a couple days but I am the community content manager working with Ben and James and Ryan here and uh I'm working in the Austin office right now super super excited to be here it's kind of one of these weird Outsider Insider feelings where I I know so much but know so little and I just can't wait to dig into it you guys will see me around on the forums on the videos on you know social media everything uh it's genar find me it's fun so yeah this is actually your second day yeah yeah and how's it been so far incredibly exciting it's it's almost exhausting to go home after just being like this the whole time I haven't really had a chance to Exhale but I'm

  25. 00:20:00

I'm beyond just I'm here what way are you looking forward to interacting with the community the most I I I want to see all of the great stuff that the fans can create I know how violently loyal our fans are to this game to this brand and I want to see how far we as marketers can almost like help them help us be creative I I love seeing the artwork I spent a lot of time before I was even hired listening to The Unofficial podcast that the fans put out just to learn you know there's like a a 101 of you know Star Citizen and I was just like done listened to it learned I am it's awesome first one of the first things I did when I started was I made a giant

  26. 00:20:47

Google doc of all of our podcasts or all of our fan podcasts I'll send that over to you I I am just I am in awe I am absolutely in awe I mean I've I've dealt with fandoms before I'm a I'm a YouTuber at heart so I understand the the Loyalty that goes behind being a fan in this day and age and and these guys are just another level it's crazy yeah we definitely have the best fan base I've ever seen yeah it's amazing we say it all the time how it we say it so much it's become cliche but this community is really special and people that don't realize that really haven't been part of other communities then absolutely and the the opportunity to be the one that helps Drive the content for that Community is just a once in a-lifetime kind of I done so excited I say all the time like you know St usually the days are

  27. 00:21:35

great sometimes the days are not so great but at the end of the day we'll never have a job like this ever again absolutely and you know it's thanks to because the people you're trying to make content for are the people that are paying your salary so it makes it's a special connection you have with them where I want to make something cool because you've allowed me to do it you know what I mean it's almost like um YouTubers in a sense have kind of developed that Bond where they're benefiting from the fans coming back for the ad Revenue so I have a little bit of background when it comes to the uh ask and you shall receive kind of uh M marketing so it's it's I'm just ready to go that's all I can say all right we we worked together we worked together for a while but this is what the second time we've ever actually met in person and this is the first time in your neck of

  28. 00:22:22

the woods so what's it like having like what's it like being Ben before now me and Ben's like eyes over here oh well I mean I'm in the middle of the art pit so you know as an artist that's awesome I'm stred by extremely creative people people who uh have a passion for their job who um have years I mean 10 to 15 years or more experienced in the game industry these are like the top-notch guys yeah so I get to you know be around that all the time so that's incredibly inspiring I think it's made my work like 10 times better I get to I I have collaborated with Mark SK with Chris Smith with some of our um our concept artists and stuff and it is just it's an amazing experience that like you say we'll never have this again yeah it's you don't want to get braggy and stupid

  29. 00:23:12

but it's it's a really special thing and thank you guys again thank you like we always try and say absolutely I mean I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you well thanks guys for talking to us and you can find us on the forums or anywhere on the website it's it's genar I believe it is our archers cig and of course you can also reach out to me will and Ben uh so thank you guys so much and back to you guys thank you James and uh Jenny and Ryan welcome aboard although Ryan has actually worked here for uh several months he has now let's go over to will for this week's MVP hey everybody I'm assistant Community manager will here to bring you this week's MVP this week's MVP goes to screw ball for his thread called list of

  30. 00:24:00

songs and music for and by star citizens fils and original composition try and say that 10 times fast in this thread he's been collecting and cataloging music for about a year and it's been an invaluable resource that we've been able to use with our fan spotlights so thank you very much screw ball for this week's MVP thanks will um now I recently sat down with one of cloud imperium's co-founders a guy you haven't seen in the show before but who has been absolutely instrumental in making star SC and Happ Mr ortn fouth hello everyone I am joined today by Cloud imperium's co-founder and vice chairman Mr ortwin fouth uh or welcome thank you you've actually uh been with the project since the very very beginning it's just uh kind of been in the background in terms of uh our Productions that's right um so uh

  31. 00:24:50

welcome to the community thank you very much um of course you have been all events and I think people know who you are but this is their first time meeting you right I've met a lot of our fans uh um at the events I attend all the large ones um at least and try the others if I can make it but there's a lot of work going on for us here but yes uh I'm in the background as the business and legal support well um tell us a little bit about what you do for the company well as I said uh we provide I and uh the people that help and work for me here reporting me uh we do all the business support and backdrop that goes into to making sure that whatever the artistic site and of course Chris foremost have come up with is implemented is tied down is uh protected uh and at the same time

  32. 00:25:39

also that you know we follow all the rules and regulations that for company at this point being out there worldwide are quite numerous now um if I'm correct you're not a traditional game developer this is your first uh foray into this field is that correct well um I am by origin an attorney MH uh and have worked in the first and foremost in the film arena for a long time I also worked as a uh entrepreneur in that field produced pictures uh ran production distribution companies um always loved the law um and so when I came back to it uh in early 2000 as an attorney um I started out again with film or continued I should rather say with in the film Arena and then a few years later picked up uh the game field as well so I've been working as an attorney in the game field for

  33. 00:26:27

quite a number of years but have not been my entrepreneurial background has been artistically in the or operationally uh in the film World rather than the game World this is indeed the first foray with a game development and Publishing Company how did you like how did you meet Chris Roberts in the first place have uh when Chris moved from game into film uh we met through some deals that came together where I was on the other side and then uh he hired me to help him with uh his film company so that goes back uh quite a while um and we so then when he did lot of war and and the big white and um lucky number seven in all those films and also corporately in terms of uh his funding and those Finance deals and all those things uh I helped him with in his

  34. 00:27:16

company and we grew closer and became friends uh and so when he moved back into game he was aware of the fact that I had years earlier already expanded into the game field uh with representing publishing companies and and uh game development companies so uh he first uh discussed with me just that side but that at some point we actually decided to set out together as a as an entrepreneurial team um him being of course the major part but me basically allowing him to focus as much as possible uh completely on the artistic and and uh that side and so I can he doesn't normally uh what you often have is is that CEOs uh or chairman uh have to spend quite some time with their

  35. 00:28:04

attorneys and they want to get decisions from them and and their CFOs and whatever and so here I'm able to uh just distill it down to keep his time that he has to spend on that as small as possible have him make the calls and decisions discuss him and then he can go back to do what you know he needs to do and I can just take care of following through yeah speaking to having watched this relationship over the past three years or so uh we could not do any of this without you you're kind of the the Bedrock of the company well that's very nice I mean but we are strictly a support it's all about the game it's all about the artistic design and implementation but indeed uh I think it was uh muset on day one day he wish he didn't have to spend 40% of his time with the business and legal end of it but there was no way to avoid it uh and so here the way we worked it out it you

  36. 00:28:54

know Chris doesn't need to spend at all 40% on it so that I take care of it yeah now uh can you tell me how you are involved in uh this film here that's B yeah that's from the uh earli a period um I produced or executive produced wolfin Peterson's first movie in the states uh that was actually financed and distributed by a company that I was running at the time and wolfing and I became good friends we still are to this day uh and when I started my own production company when i' left this other company and started twin brothers uh which is where the twin brothers on the European PayPal comes from uh so when I started the company's spr Brothers Productions one of my ideas was to take that classic dust board which which I loved and which i' had seen in all its different versions at the time and uh create a director's cut not I cry to facilitate so that wolfen could

  37. 00:29:44

create a director's cut his golden cut his ideal cut because there was a 2 and a half hour version and there was a six hour version and the the ideal is is this director cut that came out of it which is uh three and a half uh hours which is quite a bit but it as those who have seen it will know keeps you captivated all that time and so when we did this we completely restored the film and completely remixed it it was actually a job that I had thought originally would take three to six months but it took a year and a half um to do it all and and and have it released and of course wolf expected that I also helped with the release and dealing with Sony uh and all that making sure because he was busy at that time doing Air Force One so this is a few years this is in 96 I think it's a while back uh and so um yeah so I spent that time I had a great time was one of my

  38. 00:30:33

favorite projects uh and came out very well was very successful as well and actually Sony came back a couple years and asked us to uh produce a Blu-ray uh special 30-year Edition with a lot of um behind the scenes footage so we set out and shot another three and a half hours of behind the scenes with Wolfgang and jgen pno and all that so yeah that's been uh a nice very nice experience in my in my career so it's it's rare that we actually get to plug something in the interview but do boot available on Blu-ray right right actually it's funny I I always kind of had it in my head that that must be how you knew Chris Roberts because he loved do boot so much he cast juren proc now in the wing Commander movie and it inspired him I always wondered yeah no that is actually

  39. 00:31:21

I think we we share a lot of common uh commonalities in taste and and and approach to things so I think that's also why you know we're we're so close personally as well so but no I didn't meet him on that occasion sometimes people ask me so were you involved in the first production of this Bo and um I always because which was in 7981 I said no I'm not that old I just just gotten out of out of high school at that time yeah in Germany though yeah yeah now you from Germany uh originally yeah I was born and raised in Germany um part of the family is French um but you know uh growing up in town called Hanover which was originally part of the British Empire a long time ago uh and uh focused very much in my studies on International

  40. 00:32:09

Endeavors of international law I also worked politically internationally for a while uh and ended up uh in the states to do a master in law as part of my PhD at the time and um the way things evolve uh I very quickly took off here very well I decided to stay a little longer and uh a few years later I realized um this is the place to be so I stayed all together of course we have quite a uh contingent of German backers and Star season any uh particular message you'd like to share with them in German you mean yeah yes absolutely yeah there you have it do you have any

  41. 00:32:57

advice for anyone who might be interested in sort of pursuing the same sort of career as you did how how do you get involved in the legal aspects of game development so you know first of course you need you need a solid basis on your legal side and frankly it doesn't hurt to uh Garner that in the creative field working film and television or game right away but it doesn't have to be I mean that's just a solid basis I I studied law internationally because I I like it I liked it since I was a a young man a little boy actually um and so I've never W it than that and I still enjoy it to this day very much so um is anything that gets law by definition is local uh it's always local law laws that apply we got the EU now but it's still it's local in principle if you know between the

  42. 00:33:43

states and there it's very different so um but as you get into supporting an Endeavor that is international by definition and so will be any film or game distribution you need to be interested in also understanding other legal cultures and and rules and if you like all that then it's it's a lot of work but it's very very rewarding and very interesting now let's uh let's talk about something that has some of our backers concerned right now which is the change to the uh having to charge V for the uh various packages in Europe can you uh speak to that well yes I mean uh we made the switch which overall is going to be of a great benefit to um the backers and the development of the game to establish a strong foothold in Europe as well there's a you know significant

  43. 00:34:31

contingent of our backers are from Europe and it makes a lot of sense to for a variety of reasons to have operations there not just on the publishing side but also on the development side that has to do with tabbing into some very promising and good talent that we have in the UK u in Germany uh at the same token there are benefits to be had um such as in the UK which has just implemented a very generous game tax credit relief so we able to get a nice refund of uh all the expenditures in the UK which benefits the Beckers because we can put more um on the screen so to speak in the game now uh as you do that you have to follow local rules uh for Europeans uh value added text is nothing new it's a bit unfortunate uh because it's in some countries really high uh and as of the

  44. 00:35:19

1st of January you have to charge the local rate applicable to each purchaser where he or she is um however we are very you know uh always uh interested in following the rules and making sure we don't have any uh wrenches thrown into our operations which wouldn't help anybody because it would potentially affect our work so we're quite quite strict in that uh however uh something to keep in mind that maybe some backers um out there haven't fully realized yet is because we are spending in Euros we are able to be more flexible in adjusting for currency fluctuations because a euro is a euro is a euro EUR so to the extent that I spent Euros say in Germany uh which we do at this point with the new operations there um I'm able to disregard uh how the currency

  45. 00:36:11

changes and fluctuates in relation to the dollar now right now for example there's as everybody knows out there it's been an unfortunate devaluation of the Euro quite a bit 15% probably by now uh and it's expected to continue for a while I'm sure eventually it's going to go up again which is good but for now uh it is falling now because of our ability to spend Euros for euros we don't need to follow that so for example right now as our International store is going to go on on on on February 1st we are able to keep the euro rate where it is when it has just Fallen 15% so actually when you think about it as a European backa that vat is largely offset by the fact that we can give you the same Euro price that you had before instead of having to adjust for it so it it it and if it

  46. 00:37:00

continues by the way uh there may come out ahead uh it may actually to the extent that we're able to keep the UR now we have to monitor the development because we have to match what we spend against what we uh collect and if there is a Divergence we might have to consider having to change money after all but to the extent that we don't need to um we can maintain it uh and that means that Beckers uh that that vat increase that Beckers are um you know not not loving I don't blame him uh will be upset by that factor so it's um you know it's it's actually situation that works out then uh not as bad as people may perceive right now we actually may come out just as a wash oh that is fantastic news um I think people

  47. 00:37:47

will be very glad to hear that well we we're trying to plan everything out in a way that allows us to build the game most efficiently and serve the Becca most efficiently and this is part of it what's the strangest legal situation we've run into uh the last couple of years anything stand out the strangest legal situation if you can talk about it um that's a good point yeah so strangest quasi legal situation I would say it didn't become really that controversial but it it I thought it was uh kind of really interesting in in in our sphere of what we're doing uh you know we had the itus uh designed and uh well originally introduced in the concept phase uh as a Corvette class and then as it gets all designed out in detail it became clear

  48. 00:38:36

that all the features uh and elements that are supposed to go in that ship required to be larger by a few feet meters and so it became then militarily correct a fraggot and so we got uh a person that got very upset about that and contacted us and felt that we were in breach because he had really wanted to buy the ship as a Corvette and how could it be a frot now and it became a quite convoluted discussion and we were able to settle it out and I think in the end uh I forgot actually how how he got satisfied but I thought that was that was quite funny from a legal standpoint so there you go our ships are uh in every part of this process that's right everything has a legal end to it now I'm looking for it we going to have obviously a court uh in the system which

  49. 00:39:25

was announced uh a few months ago oh yes it's one of those go I don't think that I'll be on that court I'm too busy to do it but I love the concept it was actually an idea that I had floated to you know in our universe settle disputes in a court in the universe and and I'm kind of looking forward to see how that works here and there I might you know provide some input but uh that'll be fun to watch so there you go watch out when you're in the persistent Universe you may uh be the one judging you thanks well I'd like to thank you for coming on thank you very much for having me uh coming out of Shadows yep the The Man Behind The Throne is here for the first time thank you and thanks for all your support we love it we enjoy every day coming to work and have fun getting it out there nice interview Ben thank you I mean normally we have James do these but uh
