- 00:00:48
the project manager from Foundry 42 how you doing Ricky doing really well thanks thanks for coming on thanks for visiting us out here in California yeah it's good it's uh it's definitely different um been eating a lot I was on a diet um probably like a few months ago why were you on a diet um cuz I just wanted to be like completely trim and now it's just gone out the window you've been in the you've been in the US for two days and you're like forget it that's it no no no I started going slightly off it um as Forest came over actually and then just all downhill too many pubs too many something like that yeah so how did you get started with the project because I'm going to let you know right now you were one of my favorite people really on this project do you say that to everyone though no honestly I don't look back at all the other ones and doesn't mean I don't like
- 00:01:34
the other guys okay I'm going to double check but there's been numerous times where I've been like oh crap I have to get this done I'm screwed and then I'm like Ricky's on let's ask Ricky and you figure it out so thank you so how did you get started um well I was um working at Travis Tales um previously and um that was a company that obviously Aon wed up um then Aon had left um and then kind of got in contact with a few people and then taken it from there traveler tale so did you make crash Bandu in the Wrath of Cortex it was um working on predominantly the Lego game so I was part of the um Team probably um as quality insurance tester in 2010 um and then I moved into production in 2013 so latest projects were Lego Marvel and
- 00:02:22
Lego Hobbit cool and Aon was like come with me want to say that um you know I went and uh kind of contact with him and stuff and uh just went on from there really was it the opportunity that D that brought you to this or was it the the scope was it what this thing was did you know what this thing was um so before um I found out obviously Erin had uh moved over um to C I kind of like knew briefly about star and not too much to be honest um and then I did a bit more research about it um and I just think the ambition is yeah it's it's pretty Dam ious um everything that you want to achieve so I I see it in two aspects um the enjoyment of what the game is um you know bringing in first person shooter exploration um and dog
- 00:03:10
fighting etc etc um coupled with then the professional sense in terms of the Global Communication that's needed the scheduling um and and that project management scale I think both of those are very challenging and that was quite um attractive so the the concept of scheduling is attractive to you whatever floats everyone's boat right um no it's um it's just part of um my nature into kind of um something that I've always liked as you know being able to set um Milestones goals um targets and those kind of things and and then people achieving them as part of that as well um it's always great to see you know Smiles on developers faces when they've gone and achieved something and you know that's great that um you know people in production can actually push that along as well so did you always
- 00:03:57
want on be in games or was just kind of something that you kind of into um I always played games and I always love games but it was definitely something I fell into um I was doing my um Masters in psychological research methods and then um I'm like my last month um I had someone message me just say hey um one of my really good friends I always played video games with and uh he was just like looked as a quality assurance Test's job um at Travelers tales and then I just was like you know what let's go for it and then I've never looked back so nice yeah I I actually started in QA too yeah yeah I was what you work on uh some Sony games like God of War Uncharted yeah I was going to go to law school and I was like in between the time when I take the lsats and I you
- 00:04:45
know see what I got and I got the job at Sony and I never looked at my scores and just said I'm going to take the job and I've never looked back to we have like this little thing we got going here we just don't look back and we don't care about the people behind us as really bad as or we're really stupid like that's also possible maybe so what kind of game do you play um so I think like um preference um would be football games um soccer that is by the way um uh just in case um so Football manager FIFA um but then I like beat them UPS as well so like more Kom at 10 um and then some platform games some of the Pokemon games um a good mix really like I like the Uncharted series you know like the first one um did you like Uncharted fight for Fortune the PSP card game or the PS Vita
- 00:05:33
