   commander of the secret missions to Crusade um if you're with us I'm sorry uh but you must have you were probably here for one of our previous streams we did wi Commander's 25th anniversary and then we did secret missions one um becoming all the more frustrated as we play through each one and this time we're going to be really really really frustrated because this game is extremely hard um secret missions one was very very hard it was you know you'd have a couple missions that were doable and then there'd be one insanely hard one secret missions 2 is just very very hard throughout um and it has a lot of changes from the original win Commander um going back to 1990 wi Commander one and secet missions were developed simultaneously kind of like somebody

   like EA would do with DLC today where they would make uh you know Battlefront and then they would plan the five expansions um may have been the very very very first instance of that so secret missions one used the win Commander one executable you know if you got wi Commander one in uh September 1990 you would load it up and there would be two options there would be start uh wi commander and start secret missions and if you TR to third secret missions it would say give us more money right to whoever for a catalog um secret missions 2 was a result of the success of wing Commander um it's it's weird to think right now but when win Commander was coming out there wasn't NE necessarily Universal faith that this was going to be worth the the crazy amount of money that was put into it and all the effort and you know it was the biggest project origin ever done um it very quickly proved sales wise that

   there was no worry there and they could keep making win commanders for many many years um and arguably still should be but um so secret missions 2 was actually started by the same team as did win Commander 2 as sort of a prequel so you're going to notice uh any of the new art has a little bit of a different style to it the writing has changed dramatically um if you're familiar with wing Commander 2 you'll see there's all sorts of leadin we meet uh Hobs and Jazz and all these characters that are going to be much more important much important later um it's sort of the introduction to a bigger Wing Commander Universe this is the first first game that has a novelization we can talk about that a little bit later um all sorts of you know wi Commander kind of spreads its wings from here this this is the first first time they looked back at Wing
