   [Music] uh my name is Nate blazel AKA Nathan or Nathaniel and uh I'm senior game designer working with Rob and I'll be doing a lot of mission design system design and stuff like that you played Commodore 64 as a kid how did that lead you into the game industry uh pretty much as soon as I had my c64 I knew that I wanted to do game something in game business and I didn't know what but uh eventually I as I got older I realized well I don't there's no there's no degree for doing games so I I picked the closest thing which was computer science and uh right out of college I I had an

   off opportunity to do a QA on System Shock 2 so I took that and then from there I got right after that I got a a design job in at IR rational games what projects have you worked on I've worked on Thief deadly Shadows Thief 3 uh Dex Invisible War uh Doom 3 uh Spider-Man 3 lots of 3es in there have you played any Chris Roberts games um not a whole lot but I and honestly when I did play the games that he made I didn't know that he had worked on them I was I was younger uh but the first game I worked on was or played of his was times of lore what will you be doing as a designer for Star Citizen um well lately I've been doing a lot of the written Mission designs for squadron 42 uh which eventually down the road I

   imagine I'll be involved with with actually scripting those experiences out um uh it's the the nice thing about being in game design is that you often play a lot of different roles based on where you are in the project now what are you most looking forward to in the game I'm really looking forward to seeing how the players take all the game systems we build and find Gameplay that we never anticipated and make the game better as a whole as a result when you're not playing dad to 5-year-old twins do you find any time to play games sometimes yes uh I'm I've been known to play some Magic the Gathering online uh my wife say that I'm a bit of an addict about it and uh that might be true you also like to
